ForSpeculating about what would happen if a major organ was destroyed in a Half-Dead. For a typical Half-Dead, they end up having to adapt without. The Wendigo makes minor adjustments to keep the body going, but there’s no really replacing a lung or a heart. They’re permanently handicapped.
However, Uber Half-Dead don’t have the same restrictions. They can replace everything except their brain. But that doesn’t mean regeneration is pleasant. With a severe enough injury, they revert back to a cocoon. They’re pretty hungry before, during and after. And pissed. Really, really pissed. They crave Wendigo, meat, and revenge.
And in a fella like The Cat, expect all three of those desires quadrupled.
What happened to him here? The idiot probably tried to cozy up to another Uber. For such a murderous and self-centered SOB, he’s damn gullible when it comes to certain kinds of promises. Cocky assholes generally are.
One hopes he’d learn from this.

Liking the change in the background's color and in the attitude of the character in the last panel, to me, it looks like a burst of anger pulled him out of a kind of passive state

His valentines' day is actually more goofy than you'd expect. A whole lot of running around finding presents for all his various lovers that don't mean diddly squat emotionally, but might charm you anyway if you don't realize he's giving them out asymmetrically, or to more than one person in the first place. And then his not realizing that maybe this one doesn't like diamonds and flowers and the other one would really rather not have a scratched up card. All last minute gifts pulled from his ass to keep convincing people he gives a crap.
Still hurtful (in a subtle, longterm way), but not like so literally this :3

The only thing that surprises me is that there ISN'T more blood. XD Also I love the tone change of the bottom panel where the background goes all black.

Haha yeah I might go back and tweak some things, like add more blood at the top panel to balance out that composition and fix a few anatomical issues. My 2am illustrations just aren't that great.

I love the horror, comic book-esque look of this. The sharp, sketchy lines really enhance the feeling that he's in pain, and as usual the expressions you manage to portray are wonderful. Great stuff.
