Description
MundaneLike water off your back
The morning sun gilds you but
You weren't meant to be golden
Molten light and muted sound
A silenced trumpeteer hangs from
The barracks of your life, under siege
And you run
Into the forest of dreams
Slanted eyes watch your every step
Appraising until the grass you crush
Beneath your clumsy feet is too much
And then shrieking pervades
Stumble through the groping weeds
They'll catch you
Nightmare creatures, garish and all too real
Talons clutch at you but you're
Freedom's embodiment, triumphant
And their bodies lay at your feet
Your mark on their heads
Cry 'Fairness' or 'Karma'
But all this is, darling
Is continuation.
