Disclaimer: you whom have read my 'critiques' know it already, and if you've ever seen the film "The Dead Pool" you know the original version of Dirty Harry’s view on ‘opinions’ even better.

I have to say I've enjoyed the entire series here put out by FaeStock, but wanted to focus on one piece rather than sounding redundant and complimenting all of them like the fan-boy I probably am. As a fan of the fantasy maiden genera (mind out of the gutter you lot) I look forward to this sort of thing, but was torn between which image to really comment on. The end result was the creation of the D. Rossi "Would it be awesome on the side of a Bus/Van?" test. As FaeStock has already achieved this fake Xbox achievement of "You're On a Bus!" this test probably doesn't hold much weight, but this piece properly makes use of enough subject matter in both the fore and background to be suitably applied to the metal side of a double-decker inviting people to visit Australia.

All zaniness aside, composition is fantastic as always, with only the limits of the lens aperture resulting in what could be considered a 'harsh cut' on the bottom edge where the cloak is cut off. This is a mechanical limitation combined with an artistic decision of what is the scene's focal point, and should only be of concern if the intention was to provide model stock on its own. Instead FaeStock provides what I feel should be more aptly called "Scene stock" as all the elements are already there to provide for a great image on its own, something that can be enjoyed as is and at the same time can be used as source matter for both model and scene stock work for an Amy Brown piece or two (I don't know if FaeStock unlocked that fake Xbox achievement yet, but I know YOU have Lanny! *points*) Sharpness is, as always in FaeStock's work, top notch, and you have pixels upon pixels from which to tweak, manip, or insert a horse should the mood strike you (my own work is infamous for this) but I'd almost be hesitant to break up the image as it is. The level of detail is such that to modify the work would almost be to destroy the elements that make it great.

From a solely artistic standpoint, I interpret this work to be a commentary on 'the sublime' in nature in awe of power (the falls) from a fixed point (the 'maiden'.) Rather interestingly, in casting the maiden as fixed and the falls as active, a dramatic reversal of nature as the transitory creature and mankind(womankind?) occurs again hinting at the idea of being in the eye of a storm as it were, or the 'sublime.' The play of light off FaeStock's face is a nice touch, it adds definition to her features, and is in keeping with the symbolism I chose to assign to the cloak (black in western tradition being associated with death, in this combined with the maiden to cast the image in a 'tragic' perspective death contrasted with clear vitality.) I'd assign Ethereal as one of the keywords in the image so anyone searching might find this as it’s a descriptor that repeatedly comes to mind. The work is both beautiful and heartbreaking. It is also art, pure and simple. While I might again consider my own work purely 'reference material' FaeStock has released here a set which can stand on its own, be it on the side of a bus, or on the wall in a frame. So sum things up then in one word... Crikey!

I just wanted to let you know that I really love your pictures, I was worried about finding someone that fit my main girl, but so many of your pictures are spot on for her, which is really amazing since of course you never knew anything about her. <3

its between the entertainment centre and swan brewery.
the entrance is on mounts bay road, you can actually see the park when your on the kwinana fwy going south but it just looks like scrubland.
there is a very pretty waterfall and heaps of trees and steps, very popular with wedding photos.

Oh wow... I've lived in Perth for 24 years, I've driven along that street hundreds of times and I have never seen it.
TERRY! WE ARE GOING WALKING!

I want to try and get to Lesmurdie Falls at some point and take some stock there. There is some really nice paths along there.
