It was a phone call that got you here. The call was from your friend Germany, saying to come to Italy at once. You didn’t know what he meant, just that it was important and that Italy needed help. You and Italy had been friends for as long as you could remember, so of course you’d go to help him.

You thought you had seen everything from your Italian friend… but you never thought you’d see him crack.

When you finally found Italy after hours of searching… your stomach turned. He was standing completely motionless… save for his spontaneous fits of insane giggles. His bright blue uniform was covered in bloodstains. You reach out to try to talk to him and ask what happened, but once you looked ahead, you couldn’t believe your eyes. Several people were hanging by their feet on a local gas station. Each of them were unmoving and severely beaten and bloodied. At the center of them, one of them was beaten beyond recognition. You felt slightly faint, but regain control of yourself as you look back at your Italian friend.

His laughter was the only thing filling the void of silence. “I did it… I finally did it… I… I killed them… I killed that monster…” As you look at him, you see his face contorted into a mad expression. His eyes were wide, his pupils the size of pinholes, and his mouth wide in a horrifying smile. It wasn’t until you see tears roll down his cheeks that you finally move in. Despite Germany and Japan’s outright demands not to, you approached your broken-down friend, wrapping your arms around him. At first, he didn’t move, and simply froze in your hug. After several minutes, he finally tightly embraced you and cried into your shoulder.

“It’s okay, Veneziano…” you whisper to him, “It’s okay…”
