In the beginning, when a deity was one, his heart longed for an unknowable paradise. To be free of the pain, he tore out his lungs to reach his heart. That tissue, betrayed by its master, spawned a will of its own becoming a wrathful sultan. Its visage can be seen upon the Universe’s uninhibital places, spawning terrible storms that span from one corner to the next. Can you hear its call, child? Can you hear the booming thunder, the howling wind, or the mountains shaking? Are you wise to recognize the deathly calm when it gazes upon you? Are you afraid? You should be.
Ask the villagers’ shadows between giants reach and frigid spine; ask them what became of their home when their elder begged for his blessing. Don’t you see? The Stormfather answered their call, he came for them, and where once there were two mountains, only one remains.
