"You have defined the boundaries of this worktable of our existence and shaped the tools we have to use thereon." The Scholar's torn underclothing vanishes from the being's hand to be replaced by other objects lost from sight within the massive grip.

"We will respond in kind. You will bear our rune above your womb, marking its energy as ours. With your fire stoking our sorcery, we will together probe the boundaries of your existence and pierce the barrier between this world and the Otherness. And when we are successful, your precious Magistrate will be returned to you. Your sister Avora as well. All will join you." Elina feels the certainty of the words washing through her, settling down inside the pit of her stomach, the core of her person.

"The chain of events has been forged, and all will join us in the feast."
