That one little dot on the right of it irritates me so much. The second I saw it I yelled "NOO! Come on!"

Wow... More fascinating than (the too huge) Mercury (I read your answer to the other one who pointed it out) is the atmosphere. The magnetic storms that are visible are brilliant!
(Are the stars in the back added too? because usually you shouldn't be able to see other stars, because the sun is too bright.)

This is so beautiful! As an astronomy lover, I'm truly fascinated by it
It does not matter that Mercury is unnormally big, the power of the scene is still breath-taking
If you look at this picture out of the corner of your eye, it looks like the intensity in the sun's light is slightly changing! Truly beautiful!

Oh, Wowsers!
Yeah, Sunshine had the right colours, I didn't like the story, though. But you also have the right colours.
I like the way your solar prominences spin around everywhere, making the sun more destructive and also more beautiful.

I love that movie, and that was my favorite scene. They did an incredible job of conveying the vast sizes of the planet, the sun, and the distance between everything. And how pitifully small we are.
This is a very lovely rendition of that scene, though I think the sun could use much more noise and activity. As it is, it just looks like a glowing planet with cloud cover.

Nice.
The scale is waaay off, but I can understand why...

fallenZeraphine In reply to The-Dude-L-Bug [2012-01-13 18:37:14 +0000 UTC]
True this is nowhere near to scale, I looked at a real Mercury Transit Photograph before starting this and figured out Realistic wouldn't do, either Sun has to be So large that you wont see the disc, or Mercury had to be a Pixel, hence Mercury is the size of maybe Earth now , thanks for the comment..
