Description
To make this, you first boil about a third of a rack of ribs for about an hour, Then you apply some barbecue sauce to them and bake them for half an hour. Then you cut the partial rack of ribs into individual ribs.

Meanwhile, in a separate pot, You boil dark red kidney beans with about half a small minced yellow onion, a teaspoon of garlic powder, red pepper flakes (to taste; I used abut half a teaspoon full), two packets of dried sofrito and two packets of Sazon. Sofrito is made from garlic, onion, coriander, cilantro, bell pepper, and (sometimes) tomato. You can make your own, with or without tomato in it, and if you do, add about four teaspoons full. You can improvise a sort of Sazon, by mixing garlic powder, salt, turmeric, coriander and paprika (for the red color, instead of annatto). Real Sazon, from Puerto Rico, is better though. Anyway, you boil all of that together and you are supposed to spoon the beans over white rice. I mixed mine with brown rice (boiled in yet another pot).
