So this is my first attempt at a digital art piece, and I guess it would be best categorized as fan art. The girl it's based around is Maya Arulpragasam, better known as M.I.A., a Sri Lankan war-child and musician. Her music and artwork is seriously wicked, and I really admire her intensity. I made a real effort to load this piece with images and themes relevant to M.I.A. and her work, so please offer any feedback you may have

A UK based musician and visual artists of Sri Lankan desent. Her father was a member of the radical Tamil seperatist group 'The Tamil Tigers'. Maya spent most of her childhood moving around Sri Lanka and south india attempting to find refuge from Sri Lanka's onging civil war. Her lyrics are politically explosive and razor sharp, and she is quickly becoming world renown though many find her work highly controvercial.
