The fact that beautiful Marion Cotillard can come across that frightening just speaks to the epic dimension of Mal Cobb, and how little of it we get to really see. Loved her soooo much... but yeah, still more than a bit intimidating.

That's a deep title. Cobb mentioned that he could only create a shade of his beloved Mal.... It was sad how they resolved their problem, but at least they did. Great movie!

This is gorgeous! I love how you drew her.
Mal was absolutely my favourite part of the movie. I think the arc about her and Cobb was easily the most important thing in the story. Plus, Marion Cotillard is stunning and one of my fav actresses. Her acting was excellent.

Marion is breath-taking, period. I think the only thing I might love her in more than this is the Crazy Vengeful Bitch in 'A Very Long Engagement', possibly because she was so artfully over the top sexy, deadly, crazy + vengeful. But I never tire of watching her. I stayed away from as much promo for Inception as I possibly could before viewing and was genuinely surprised in the best possible way see her cast. I don't think I stopped wanting to paw at the screen She is enigmatic, so captivating and subtle. And don't get me wrong, while I LOVED drawing this, I still feel it doesn't quite do her justice...
...so yeah, thanks for not hating

I'll say this, and only because I feel "HATE" is a very strong word.
When I saw "Inception" the second time I noticed how different Arthur was about talking on the subject of Mal, especially when he described her to Ariadne. I realized that the film/cobb's dream version [as in not the flashback version of Mal] was so one-dimensional and antagonistic, to a ridiculous degree only because she was the embodiment of all of Cobb's self-hate and guilt. But when Arthur talked about her he wistfully called her 'delightful'. I would have liked to have seen that Mal, the one linger with her kids and teaching with her Dad and falling in love, but I understood why we got this knife-wielding, screamy emotionally driven psychotic piece of French-craziness.
But then this isn't a movie that the story of how Mal met Cobb, etc. so it made sense, (in the narrative) to make her both extreme and unlikable. I don't hate her, I don't like her, but I understand her, more importantly the need for her and how it's very central to the story.
In fact, there wouldn't have been much of a story to tell without her.
[Not saying that it's all about her, I just personally like how Nolan rights characters where each and every single person has a significant arc, therefore no one is needless or superfluous. Even if there is someone on screen he emote negative feelings from the audience its important in the story to feel negative about it... if that makes any sort of sense ]

yeah, i completely understood why his dream version was like that. i just hated her because she was really, REALLY mean and shrill. about the movie though, the cool thing is you really can have dreams where you are the master of all you see!

Beautiful yet simple rendition of her character. I like the realistic look and that she actually looks like her. Her hair came out especially gorgeous.

Thanks, didn't have a lot of time to work on it, something like 20 minutes, but I think that's whats kept it so simple but captivating. I think if I'd been given anymore time to I would have obsessed over it and just cocked it up.

fkdgndfjkng aaaahhhh it's so nice ;; It really looks like Mal. I love your style, though the neck looks slightly awkward. It's still very nice and you captured her creepy-ass stare so well <3

thank you
I had to add the detailed version cuz in the finished one she was re-sized to, like 10 centimeters tall and that just didn't do it justice.
