Personality/History: Syn, as she prefers to be called, is a commanding, no-nonsense mare. She is an avid, complete follower of Highlordess Ares and all her teachings, striving to become more and more like the Highlordess herself as much as possible. She is ferocious, quick to anger, fast to deal out wrath, but intelligent and calculating. An avid huntress, she aims to bring Ares the most pride through her hunts and kills. Second only to her devotion to Ares is her devotion to bringing non-believers into Ares' embrace as well as raising a large brood of foals which she raises under Ares' shadow.
   It is thought that her name come from her creation of a ring of all-female Ares followers formerly called 'The Syndicate,' as her title was Syndicate Leader. Her past name is now lost, but she has embraced her new name with vigor, taking on all aspects that the organization represents.

Syndicate's Full History

Syndicate was born to a high-ranking mare of a gang of devoted Ares Followers known as Ares' Order. Her mother, Jezebel, named her Ares after the highlordess they followed, and in hopes of Syn becoming the one to guide the Order into it's future.

As the filly grew, her lack of belief in Ares did so as well. The Order has good intentions, but it's leadership and execution of their goals was far from efficient, and with double standards running rampant, Ares soon began to despise the Order and all who claimed to be part of it.

During her Initiation ritual - one where young foals were to travel with one companion of equal age to a vast unknown land - she fell upon a young stallion caught in the grip of the Moribund. After a distraction and a wild gamble of her own strength, she was able to save him and run before the Moribund could catch up to her. Upon arriving home, her mother was most displeased that she had encountered and subsiquently saved one of Aether's Sages, and punished her ruthlessly for it.

Ares ran away in the night, leaving the Order in her wake. She climbed atop a mountain one night, finding an ancient trail that wound up the craggy outcrops. At the base of the peak was a massive statue of Aether. Higher up she climbed, until the fog cleared and glaring down at her was a huge representation of the Highlordess herself. Her eyes seemed to be alight, though she was made of stone - and at last Ares felt a deep fire alight in her chest, and it was there she abandoned her name; for no mere mortal should have the name of a highlord.

Nameless, she began her own order - the Syndicate of Ares - an all-female following of the High Lordess. Their one goal is to please Ares above all else - mortal life is fleeting, but tales of pleasing the Highlordess are forever.

For years the mare went without a name, until the deeds of the Syndicate had spread far and wide, people began to refer to the mare herself as the Syndicate, since she was nameless. Gladly, Syn took on the name, and has since ruled with an iron fist over her order. They grow in strength, gathering followers as they go. While each member has a different gift to offer Ares - some hunters, some lovers, some bringers of wars - Syn herself prides herself on converting with her silver tongue. While she accepts no stallions into her ranks, she will not hesitate to convert one. Her main ploy is through the art stoking the fire of desire in others, however that may come.

When Syn was still young and inexperienced at leading the Syndicate, she stumbled upon a prophet of Aether. He too, was young, and doubted the ways of the Light. Bringing him tales of the Fire, Syn seduced him and fell with child; the pregnancy was a terrible one, as the stallion had been an Asiatic; once he learned of Syn's pregnancy, he abandoned her in shame and of fear that she would die, seeking Aether more diligently than ever before to seek relief from his guilt. Syn birthed a healthy-looking foal, but it was plagued with ailments, as well as being hermaphroditic. She named him Anteros, and hid him away, though she doted on him when nobody saw.

Though Syn will never admit to it, she sees her story as one of the Highlordess Ares; one containing a fiery mare, her soft-spoken mate, and a son who has not yet seen his full potential.
