Is that a tattoo on his arm? Can't see it no mater how close I go towards the screen Anyway that's kinda redundant. I'm just curious.
As much as I think the colour combination works well in this image, I'm seeing the picture in black and white. And showing more of the top part might be more interesting. You were trying to save those two lines, didn't you?
Ali, have you tried shooting with films?

Yes it's a tattoo. Here is the link : [link] That's from the original photo. You can see the tattoo
Well I don't know. I took the photo in color and didn't make it b&w to look how it looks . I took the photo in color because I like the colors there thats why
.
Yep I tried it. The first professional camera I used was analog . Because these times I didn't have a camera. And someone gave me the analog one to shoot. And I think Analog cameras are awesome. I will buy one when I have some money
. And I think everyone should try it. It's something different.

The photo is as good as it is, you don't even have to think to change it to black and white to see how it looks. I've been looking at a LOT of b&w photos and starting to 'see' images in b&w.
That's a good start and I think you should shoot using film camera again. I was testing my Canon A-1 and indeed like what you said it's something different to shoot with films, like the effect; depth of field and the shades and when I see this photo I thought I'd bring that out. And seeing how well your b&w shots turn out with your 400D, I bet it'd be more impressive with films...

Yea I think that too. My friend has an analog camera and I saw his photos. That's why I'm thinking of buying one.
Thanks for the good words

ali...i keep returning to this photograph again and again. at first glance i didnt like the railing left along the top border...i found it a bit distracting BUT, with each subsequent viewing, i like it more and more as it is...it almost acts as a frame of sorts and mimics the line of the ledge below it, the line where the wall meets the sidewalk, the line of the curb and the street and the white lines in the road. AND, i love the colors and the perfect placement of the walker in the frame...it's just really well done, as is everything you do!

First thanks for the great comment about the photo Marianne.
Yea I think the top border looks good in this photo. It separates the world that has houses and the world without houses and has only cars and roads and people. And the top border gives depth to the photograph. I never thought of cutting it. When I looked at the photo I just submitted it. Didn't do any sort of manipulations.
And the thing that makes it look natural is the guy walking there and the nature of the streets. The bottle on the road and the column on the right. I don't know why it looks folded on the photo. Maybe it really is like that or maybe it's something about the photo, I don't know.

i love the fact that there is no manipulation done to this ali! and i would not change it to bw ever! the colors are wonderful (and i am much more a bw kinda girl as you well know...but i think it would lose SO much if converted to bw).
i try very hard now to compose the frame just as i want it to be printed so i have no cropping to do....it doesnt always work out, but most of the time it does.
