Description
Starlings were introduced to New York in the late 1800's. Some time in the 1930's, the first 4 were spotted in Vancouver. This photo was taken in by backyard with a telephoto, no tripod. I was actually trying to get a starling flying off, but I'm happy with this one. You can even see it's little toes.

I really like how the bird isn't in the center. It makes the composition really interesting. I also like the many colors, and the blacks and whites of sillouette and light. I know I spelled things wrong. I'm sorry, I'm terrible at spelling.

A very nice and beautiful shot. The mixture of all the differant reds is spectacular. I love you caught the bird taking off.

There is a nice detail in this shot and I like the psuedo siloutte look. There is just enough color to keep the image interesting and add detail to the image without taking away from the positive/negative play going on between the foreground and the background. There is a nice flow to the composition and the way the leaves and branches flow across the image is truely dynamic. Nice shot.

Very nice. I like the silhouette a lot. I think it would have been pretty hard to do it without. I love how it's little foot is lifted. It must have been a difficult shot to get, I think you did great.
I see a turkey too!

Right man at the right time in the right place and you get pictures like this. The picture would be fine even without the bird, but it just adds more value to it. A little sidenote.. if you imagine that its tail is actually its head, it looks like a turkey who is walking.

I think it's better with the Starling more sillhoutte-like with barely any detail. It brings out the firey redness of the leaves... but that's how *I* see it ^^

I still would have liked to see my little birdy... But yah, the sillouette kinda works too.

Grrr, Ian (~Paxse ) stole all the smart, sophisticated adjectives I was gonna use. That's why all I can say is great shot, allllllmost had it in flight. I love the nice, warm fall colours in the leaves and how the starling is just plain black. Great shot.

I personally wanted to see some of the details on the starling, but thanks to London Drugs super-contrasty printing *sigh*

I like how it turned out. Detail on a bird is super hard to get expect if it's dead, tied up, trained, or you have INSANE zoom.

ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
I'm here, how's that for a quick response, under ten minutes, most ambulances take longer.

Oh, ah, this is LOVELY in full view, you nearly got him in flight, one leg lifted - great capture. The lovely rich colours of the leaves just leap out in the big version. I love the description and the border. Great job feefus, great job.
I don't know if is exactly polite to shove your telephoto in the air and point it up his bum - imagine how you'd feel - no wonder he is about to take off in disgust
