Description I had some chalk, so I drew a sun, and then I took some pictures of it. 'Nuff said. Personally, I think this is the best I've done in days.

I love the colors a lot, and how the dark fades into the red. The shadows and shapes go together well. I really like it. And the sun's expression is cool

wow, that's beautiful. The earth colours work really well. Did you tweak the photo or did it turn out like that?

either way, this is awesome.

Goodness, no. I wouldn't have the money/time/equipment to do that kinda lighting and colours. Just a regular photo, with a tritone (Red, Yellow and Black). Thanks for the comment

Such incredibly rich colours - I absolutely adore this. I'd love to be able to put an oil version of this on a wall somewhere; just imagine the warmth it would add to a room. , without any question.

I love it. I especially love the colors; the reds, the yellows and the dark oranges in the image. I like how darkspots kind-of surround the sun. Is that a rake at the bottom left?

Very nice!

Yup. Rake at the bottom, hose and watering can at the top.

Whatever you did to it, it looks incredible. Amazing how something as simple as sidewalk chalk can be promoted to otherworldly realms of glory with a simple (or perhaps not so simple) digital manipulation.

Oh I like. I think it's too dark in the upper left corner tho. Still nice composition

Interesting and I like how it looks very...metallic. The rays are a little off, and not perfect...that's about the onyl c&c I can give. Good.

feef, that is a beautiful piece! What an amazing shot, double art - a photo of a drawing of a...

...you get the idea Seriously try it with a border and see what it looks like, thin white for definition and then thicker black to compliment the dark pic. Great work!

Whee, Thanks, I'll try that. I don't border stuff very often.

It is amazing how taking something out of context can give an image so much more impact. I love the colors and the way much of the picture is obscured in darkness. It makes a simple chalk drawing on the sidewalk fit to be hung on the walls of a gallery. Very nice work. Think this has to be added to my favs.

Wow, I really like it. Good job feef. Did you take it in sepia?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

feef In reply to theghostofwazup [2003-08-30 18:02:01 +0000 UTC]

Actually, I turned it into a tritone - yellow, magenta and black. I made the really light parts (the chalk) turn Yellow, the medium light parts (the sidewalk) turn red. Everything else basicly became black, except for a couple of highlights.
