This influence map includes things that I have not seen nor thought about since elementary school, yet they still influence my art today.Upper Left: The Flight of Dragons
Upper Right: The Last Unicorn
Middle Left: Ghost in the Shell
Middle Right: Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser (art: Mignola)
Bottom Left: Gloomcookie by Serena Valentino and Ted Naifeh
This was my, "OMG there are comics NOT about superheroes?!" moment when I picked it up in a dark hole in the wall comic book shop in Albany New York when I was 17.
Then Ted Naifeh again 'cause I've been a fangirl of his ever since and I LOVE both the Courtney Crumrin and Polly Pirate titles. Below him is Hayao Miyazaki 'cause how can you see ANYTHING of his without being influenced by it. And lastly, a little Dragonball and Naruto.
