For 's design contest here: www.deviantart.com/black-wing2…Keywords for the design: Mammal (picked a cat as the mammal type), Space (it's all spacey in the dark stripes), and luminescence (all the glow!).
Holy cow, and an actual animation from me. It's been forever since I've done one. XD
As always, I'm pushing the deadline, but it be fair it took many hours to get this finished and I've been working in it all day and night just to get it done. So tired. haha
The full body took 6 hours, the headshot 7 hours, and the animation a whooping 21 hours. D: All done in Procreate.
I had more I wanted to include, but it's past my bedtime and I won't have anymore time to work on it before the contest is over.
I might keep this as an actual character. I don't know yet. It was fun to draw, so maybe.
Okay, bedtime now.

My dude this is absolutely spectacular and definitely one of your best designs so far, wich already means something tbh.
I absolutely love what combination of prompts you picked and were you went with them, especially because the end result is somehow both exactly what im sure people think of when they hear "space cat" but at the same time completely different? Its such a cool take on the topic, especially that instead of going full fantasy/galaxy mode you went with a natural cat design and then gave it space-y features, it brings the glowy,swirly effect even more across than a full galaxy design ever could? Also tbh im just hopelessly WEAK for natural design x fantastic parts. The idea with the radiating space outlines is hella effective, I've never seen sth like this before and its an absolute eyecatcher? Also love the slight additions you gave to the regular cat anatomy to enhance the otherworldly factor! Those colors all go so neat together,the contrast of the warm fur colors and the cold blue is marvellous, and the design is fascinating af, it looks both mysterious/regal as well as sort of playful? Definetely has this "sorta ageless guardian that exists since the start of the universe"-vibe.
Maybe im biased since i love cats, and space, but i swear you absolutely deserve a win, wishing you all the luck !!!!!
P.s. aside from the stunning design, the skills level on these drawings itself is crazy , i cant believe how fuckin smooth this animation is ??? Also mad respect for the super detailed headshot , holy heck o.o
