I want vampires to be the bad guys as well, or at least not these whiny, angsty, sparkly pretty boy parody-vampires. Dracula is one of best hero-villains *ever* and he would have ripped Cullen a new one in short order.
And as for Alucard in *Hellsing*, he's meant to be a over-powered version of Dracula anyways....

I enjoy both kinds of vampires (save the Twilight vampires... they're just awful). I like when they're kind-hearted and a little sentimental, but I also love when they're just complete savages with not a shred of remorse! I think the vampires and vampaneze from the Cirque Du Freak series by Darren Shan are a perfect combination of both sweet and savage.

Is clear that today's taste for stories of vampires are not the same as my time.
But I still like the guy who has renounced God and sold his soul to the devil in anger to his religion.
The strange thing is that 99% of today's vampires are only in North American territory.
