How can you draw a horse so realistic without a reference?

Great shading, but I think the tail could be longer and the hindquarters more in proportion to the body.

Very nice sketch--and being a horse-lover I must say you've done the animals justice. You've managed to get the angle right and I really like the soft shading on the neck muscles. Though the jaw seems to jut out a little far, overall it's quite well done.

This is really nice. It looks like you spent a long time getting the position of the legs just right. I really like the back legs and the overall shading.

Great job, I love the position of the horse, the chest and right fore leg are done very well

This looks like one of the best horses I've seen drawn in a while. The only problem I see is that the lower legs seem a bit too much like pegs, but other than that it is very good.
