You woke up as usual, with a sleepy face, the sun wasn’t even in the sky, everything was dark, but you knew that today wasn’t a normal day, because today was the day of your ceremony to become a real assassin, no more trainings until you blacked out, no more bruises and no more blood loss because of not being cautious enough. Today you were meant to become a master assassin, you smiled at that simple thought.

-Looks like my little uccellino is too excited to sleep. –that familiar accent traveled across the room, making you feel chills in your spine, he always called you like that, ever since you two first met.

-I suppose so. –you yawned and then rubbed your hands against your face.

-(Y/N) I’m excited too, all these years, you have been certainly my best apprendista. –He said as he walked close to your bed, you felt nervous, you had always have a crush on him but you know how to hide it just perfect, not even an assassino can notice it.

-that can’t be true Ezio, I’m sure you say that to all of your apprentices, stop playing you know that doesn’t work with me.- you said in a playful tone but inside you feel your heart ache, you really want to believe what he was saying but you just were always like this, never trusting anyone, not even him.

-Well then… -he said with a smirk in his face. –What if we take some air before your ceremony-he said while walking to the door again. –I will be waiting for you in the top of the church little uccellino, don’t be late. - And then he disappeared in the shadows of the dawn.

You couldn’t help but sigh and then start laughing in a quiet voice. You jumped out of bed and quickly put all your things in place, you looked at the mirror and smiled, the sun was coming up and looking through the window you could see the beautiful Rome, the people was already in the streets ready to start another day and the birds were singing, a sudden memory came to you, just when Ezio met you, you had just looted one of the richest houses of the zone without anyone noticing but him, he saw you in the top of a tree playing with the baby birds in a nest nearby, the most treasured memory you had with you was knowing him and even though you don’t believe in god you thanked faith for giving you this wonderful chance.

You walked fast and climbed the church to see Ezio sitting in the edge, you tried to surprise but obviously he noticed.

-(Y/N) you can’t use my own trick with Me.-he said laughing without turning, always so charming.

You walked and sat beside him, both of you watched the beautiful sunrise, feeling the warm light in your skin you shut your eyes while taking a deep breath. Ezio looked at you with those beautiful brown eyes, almost chocolate, in a way he hadn’t before.

-today is a new day. –you said and opened your eyes to face him.

-yes it is, a really beautiful one. –he said, with that look, he made you flush a bit but you managed to hide your excitement.

The time came, it was getting dark, and you were in the church with the other assassins, Ezio among them looking at you with a thin smile in his face, so only you could see it.

You were standing still while the order mentor talked.

- Everything is permitted.-You again heard his voice, but you could feel how he smirked while saying it making you do the same.

- We work in the dark to serve the light. We are Assassins. - you felt chills all over your body, you knew what was coming next, and you weren’t afraid of it, you felt proud of yourself and took the mark of the assassins in your body.

After this you saw all the members take the leap of faith. As they went one by one, you were the last one besides Ezio.

-Ready? He said looking at you with a smile, he was always smiling when you were with him, it was something weird but it makes you feel happy inside.

-Ready. –you said with a confident voice and approached the edge of the church. Ezio walked just behind you and with his hands put you in position, with your arms open wide and his body was so close you could feel his warmth and his breath as he whispered in your ear.

With those words you took off and felt the fresh air in your body, you truly felt like a bird, those beautiful creatures, you felt free.

You hit the pile of hay and then Ezio, surprisingly he didn’t hit you, and you both went out, he helped you and cleaned the hay off your hair.

- Auguri mio uccellino, you are now an assassin. –Ezio greeted you and took a step closer. - here is Il premio.- he kissed you softly in the lips, everything was perfect until the mentor of the order coughed, they were all watching you, some of them flushing and other smiling, you two laughed and went back to the church, all is over now, you are no longer ezio’s apprentice you are now his equal.
