aaaiiiiiieeee! I love this! Ah, you are wonderful, and I love the message of this -- especially the mention of the pelvic line. I remember being awed once I looked at a lot of nude art and realized that that is a COMMON thing, even with very thin women. I'm still working on loving mine, but I'm getting there. Thanks for being you.

fieldsofjoy In reply to Belenen [2006-03-06 09:25:21 +0000 UTC]

Your welcome. You should definily love your pelvic lines. I have come across a lot of photographers..and people..who say those lines are the sexiest part of the body.

I like this shot, not necessarily because of the content, or because of the attitude given to the viewer, but rather the context in the comments on this page. In the shot, we are left with a very specific impression of hostility towards our ignorant selves. This is directed not only towards society's views of 'beauty', but also specifically to the people who regularly view the art created here, and leave "ignorant" comments that frustrate the artist.

In the comments themselves, I see pretenses of personal familiarity with the artist as well as the general understanding of "Since I'm reading this, I'm not ignorant, so I can look on this with stoic pride." The truth, I've found, is that all people (myself included) are guilty of the same ignorance with claim immunity to. The only cure I know is to strive to learn something - glean wisdom - from everything I encounter, from the mundane to the arcane. Not that this is some secret knowledge or hidden idea. After all "There is nothing new under the sun." More truthfully, I say this to simply remind myself and those who care to read this that we are as guilty of idiocy as the next person.

I suppose my whole point with all this was to say that I see the artist's point of this being missed, even by the people who comment with the intention of building the artist up. Though perhaps these are just the tired rants of an ignoramus. Yet still, I pray I do not fall into the same trap that I try to warn others away from.

I completely agree with you. Everyone has fallen victim to idiocy. Hell, I do it all the time. All of my friends say I should be blonde because I don't catch onto jokes and things as quick as they do. Anyway, yes. You got it.

Very very very accurate, nice and true description. Actually in many countries still the pelvic line is still of high importance, tell the men if hte women will be a good child bearer. Don't quote me on that saying that you are a good child bearer or not. lol Just saying that some culture see it that way. Also as i told you before, in the renaissance and even early 20 century it was signs of beauty.

In anycase, don't let the losers tell you otherwise, you are a gorgeous woman and a great model, for whom my esteem has gone a level higher since i saw you naked in the snow

Keep up the good work sweety.

The fact that you felt you had to do this is sad, not that you did it mind you, the fact that the comments drove to this point. You have a strong sense of who you are, never let the people with small minds or no brains ever take that away from you.

As I have said before, I would love to work with you, if you are EVER in the St. Louis area please let me know.

U did a great job! And rel woman are hard to find.

This is my Journal entry from the 3d of feb 06... I saw your work and i just felt like i should post it here...

Birthdays are days which make me think a lot. Am i old? Am i ok? Do i look good? How will i look in 20 years? Blabla...
And by accident i got on a web side which writes about all the celebrities who are getting skinnier and skinnier. It made me think... and i have to share this with you.

If we watch television or read a journal, we are faced with the sickness of our civilisation. They tell you exactly how to dress, what to eat, what to think, what to believe and how you have to look like. HOW SICK IS THAT???

If i go to the city i see all the "wannabes". They don’t have personality they look all the same. They are products of our sick society.

Where have all the real women gone? To many woman in our civilisation try to emulate men, with success. And then they are just second-class men. But shouldn’t we be FIRST-CLASS WOMEN? Men and women are basically different and that’s the point! We are not alike, that makes the whole thing between men and women so exciting and attracting.

To every single woman out there…
Be proud to be a woman, love your curves and your femininity! Looking like a zombie can’t be a healthy goal!

To every single man out there…
You don’t have to understand women... just love them

I have a good friend who would strongly disagree with you about men and women being so different, but we'll not go there. It really is sad what America's society does to us as women in this day and age. I think it was "Spanglish" that said it the best; "American women actually feel the same as Hispanic women about weight. A desire for the comfort of fullness. And when that desire if suppressed for style and deprivation allowed to rule. Dieting, exercising American women become afraid of everything associated with being curvaceous such as wantonness, lustfulness, sex, food, motherhood. All that is best in life. β€œ

Its ok everyone is alowed to have hes own opinion. That makes life interessting
I am from switzerland and the american influence here is huge!

The text is so true and its not only happening with american women. We let this happen all over the world. Women should get back there power and there femaleness!

I wish you a lot of power to go your way!

you missed one.....

Pubic Hair - Most mammals have hair on their bodies, post-pubescent human females have pubic hair, get over it.

my ex was a figure model at our university... she looked like she had Lenny Kravitz' drummer in a leg lock.... not an issue for me,
but apparently some of her students had issues with the fact she didn't have a perfectly waxed crotch...

while i do appreciate both varieties in both my personal and professional lives.... i've never taken it upon myself to impose my will on someone else's crotch...

It's really sad actually. Many photographic sites see so many photos with high praise just based on the woman's physical gifts, even though the actual photographic integrity is sub par. Anyone can take a cheap photo of a "hot" female and call it photography. But what happened to the art of the medium? Lighting, composition, tone, grain, etc.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GIR-Prototype In reply to velweb [2006-03-02 01:18:45 +0000 UTC]

I can't speak for anyone but myself. But as for me, I've invested in a JTL background support, a 107" wide black paper background (I have other colors on my shopping list), and two RPS studio lamps and some 250W bulbs. And that doesn't even touch on all the props or how to books. I knew going into it that I would need more than just my camera to do the job right.
