Description For as long as I can remember, I've always had this intense fascination with transmission towers[most commonly called hydro towers here in Canada] and their rather skeletal structures.

Especially lattice steel towers as is depicted here- they've always been reminiscent of giants stalking across the countryside.

yees! or industrial trees

there's heaps here, where I live, along a walking trail I walk through every day to get to the station and shops <3 THEY ARE SO CLOSE TO YOU TOO like they look so impressively huuuge

I love the three dimensional look to the shading on this

Oh gawds, I know right? I had the opportunity to tour some hydro electric damns and generating stations while up north a few years ago- they look huge from a distance, but still just. So damn massive when you actually get up close.

And thank-you!

There's three photos I've taken from my area- you're welcome to use them for refs or whatever. It was really misty and cold and they looked so awesome in that weather!

I like these kind of images that you create.... The lighting and setting remind me somewhat of 80s sci-fi films, especially post-apocalyptic type stuff. They have a strong feeling of calm, yet ominous; free and unrestrained, yet troubled.

That's really flattering to hear! The 80's sci-fi scene had some pretty outrageous uses of color and contrast.
Thanks so much!

This is gorgeous! I love the red reflections on the the character and the powerline towers. Very unique! This caught my attention instantly!

I was always afraid of those giants ;~; Mostly because of the noise and electrical field they were emitting. Gave me the chills! Plus the bare fact that I was afraid of being zapped xD
But from the aesthetic point of view I admit that that kind of constructions are fascinating. In my country sometimes you can see miles of forests cut out in a straight line to make room for them. It looks like the whole forest cut itself in half just to make room for them and didn't want to disturb them.

Also lovely composition and colors! Plus that grain gives a nice effect!

Yeah, definitely! There's also the unnerving creaking of the steel frame during windy days to go along with that gentle hum. We also have similar instances of forests clear cut to make way for transmission lines, but I didn't really get to see them until last year when we had gone up into Northern Manitoba to inspect bridges. Also saw a lot of hydro-electric generating stations/dams and those were really a sight to behold.

Those lattice steel radio towers are also pretty neat, but for me, they just don't have the same look as those rows of hydro pylons marching across the Canadian prairies, single file, held in line by massive lines.

And thank-you so much!
