The story
Young Emma came running into the stable office the mail held tightly in her hand and her younger brother following closely behind. Emma was on the hunt for her older sister Sasha. She knew that around mail time her sister would be hiding somewhere in the office for her special mail delivery. But Emma wasn’t in the mood to look for Sasha, there was something in this bunch of papers that Sasha needed to see right now... If only she’d stop hiding.
“BOOOOOOO!!” Up a head Sasha jumped out of a closed door. Mike screamed and hid behind the elder girl that was his sister. Emma just stared at the eldest brown haired girl. “Oh? What’s wrong with you today Emma?” Now the fun and games were over, and Sasha was curiously watching her younger sister.
“This came in the mail for you.” Emma Said as she held out the letter. Emma knew that the letter was about horses and these were horses from a wonderful stud that she had always wanted to visit. Dilettante Stables of the magical USA. Yes Emma hadn’t had the chance to go overseas yet; she could only hope this was the chance!
Sasha slowly opened and read the letter all the while 4 curious eyes started up at her. She turned to look at the children and smiled before walking into her office. The children followed along quickly as she sat before her computer screen. Emma couldn’t keep quiet anymore. “Sooooo! What’s it about?” Sasha took a deep breath before she answered.
“Well, it looks like Dilettante stables have some yearlings up for auction. So, I’m having a look at them online.” Sasha picked up mike and sat him on her lap. “Which one do you guys like?”
“THE SPOTTY ONE!!! I WANT THE SPOTTY ONE!!” Was Mikes scream. Sasha had a quick look over the Colts stats.
“He is very beautiful... But I don’t think he will fit in. He’d be the only one with spots!” A look of horror passed over Mikes Face at the comment.
“That no good. No good at all. We can’t have him.”
“What about the chestnut filly” Emma’s Voice took Sasha by surprise. This was the filly that she had been looking at and considering.
“I think she would make a fine addition, Don’t you Mike.” Mike nodded his head in agreement.
The auction was in a few days time so Sasha, got ready to leave the farm for a few days, let the barn managers know what needed to happen and the trainers. Because Sasha had such an active role in her farm she hated to leave it for too long. Before she knew it herself, Mike and Emma were on a plane to America.
--
Midday their taxi arrived at the Dilettante stables. The auction was about to start and Sasha had a very short amount of time to look around at all of the foals that were around. The Knab was certainly a stunning specimen, and Mike kept saying how much he liked the spots. But Sasha was here on a mission. A mission to fine a match for Rory, her newly bought Dutch Warmblood colt that would be arrive at the stud as she was away on this trip.
Finally her eyes caught the beautiful chestnut splash. Her movements were stunning the original picture had been of her standing still, but now that Sasha saw her moving around the pasture, she knew she would pay nearly anything for the stunning filly. Emma was leaning against the rail was the pony. “If we get her what do you guys think we should name her?” Sasha asked the two young ones. There wasn’t a second of delay before Mike replied
“Splash!” Emma took a little longer to think about her answer. Princess was the first thought that came to her mind. There was that girl at school that always acted like a princess what was her name... Oh...
“Sarah!”
