The 3 newest additions to the breeding program.

Mara had been advised by Eirwen before she left that she may be required to visit a farm that was nearby and pick up a couple of horses. What Eirwen had failed to mention was that there was infact two farms that would call and three horses in total that would need to be escorted home – luckily the lodge had a large trailer.

In the absence of the Lodge owner Mara had employed Allison Varidel as a stable hand – so far the young 17 year old was worth her weight in gold. Together the two of them were going to visit the two farms and pick up the 3 Arabian mares. The first stop was a farm that was closing down and clearing out most of their stock as such these two beautifully bred mares were scooped up really cheap. The mares loaded with ease. This stop was easy – off to the next.

Mara and Alli arrived at Children of the Night stables, Mara was quite uncertain what they were picking up they were just told that she was ready. So it was that they were somewhat surprised after the last purchase to see a yearling being led towards them. Alli was completely smitten after all, the lodge didn’t currently have any real young stock. For easy of loading Mara Lead out one of the Mares a Classy bay named Hip Mama and allowed them to get acquainted. A nicker from the trailer meant that outlaw was interested too. The Foal gathered her courage and was quickly in the trailer with the very calm ‘done it all before mares’.

Mara thanked the staff for their help and then they were off. Finally when they arrived back at the lodge a torrential downpour had started. Mara backed the float up to the indoor arena. All three horses were allowed the chance to stretch their muscles.

“They are stunning” was Allison’s awed comment. Mara could only agree, the Arabian breeding program at the lodge was looking to turn out really well.
