◊ History: When Gretchen was young, she was actually a very timid child. Her parents, a Raichu mother and an Excadrill father, were extremely overprotective of her and sheltered her from much of the terrors of the world, and it took a long time for her to realize how important it was to be able to defend yourself. She begged her father to train her in fighting, but he refused to help her hone her abilities. Infuriated, she ran off on her own for a little while and ran into a old female Druddigon, and for a moment Gretchen thought that she had just gotten herself into a dangerous situation. However, the Druddigon only asked her why she was so upset, and did nothing to try to harm her. Still hesitant, the glowchu told the old dragon about how she wanted to learn to fight and be brave, but her parents wanted to keep her trapped in ignorance. The Druddigon offered to train her instead, and Gretchen agreed eagerly, sneaking off every night to learn how to use her unique typings to her advantage. This happened until some Primordial Pokemon, a pack of vicious Mightyena, killed her parents while she was out training. She came back to the bloody scene and tried to fight the wolves off, her desperate fight making her evolve into a Pikachu, but she passed out from her wounds, only seeing a blue-and-red body come into her vision before being overcome by darkness. When she awoke, she was with the Druddigon, but she could only see out of one eye. The Druddigon explained everything that happened, and took her to a pool of water to show her her now missing right eye. Gretchen was horrified, overwhelmed by everything that happened, and cried in her old friend's arms. She stayed with her for quite a few years, learning to fight with limited vision, and was even given an eyepatch and a Thunderstone by the old dragon as a gift for her twentieth birthday. Staying with the old, serene dragon caused her to also pick up many of her personality traits. Afterward, she began to travel, until she found out about Mirage's clan. Intrigued, she decided to follow the fellow Glowchu, hoping that she could finally put her years of training to good use.

   - Gretchen is pansexual.
   - Her birthday is on 6/15.
   - She only knows Light Screen to make up for her terrible SpD stat.
   - Gretchen is a very big eater (she attributes it to her dragon typing), and likes to tease the young ones by saying she eats misbehaving children.
   - After the deaths of her parents, her Druddigon friend basically acted as a parental figure to her for her teenaged years.
   - Her eyepatch was made for her by her old Druddigon friend a long time ago, and Gretchen has no idea what happened to her after she left home.
   - Gretchen actually has an aptitude for crafting and fixing things, but only small things. Metal is her specialty.
   - She takes advantage of the durability her typing gives her, but thinking about how long she may be alive for terrifies her.
   - Her markings are suppose to look like swords as a slight reference to fairy tales (knights and dragons in particular).
