Really awasome i gotta say im a big fan of hokusai...but if you want it to be truly Japanese you should keep in mind that Japanese dragons have only 3 toes....the chinese ones have 5, korean have 4...

We can all learn from the Japanese woodcuts of Kunioshi, Kunisada, Eisen; the Ukiyo-e that inspired van Gogh's work. Several good books out there.
(read 'em- don't just look at the pictures).
