Riona a very relaxed person who takes one day at a time. This doesn't mean she won't try to help out when needed however. She loves to feel useful and will usually lend a hand if someone asks her. She gets bored easily and will usually take out her phone or old gameboy to play video games when nothing is happening around her. Riona also has a bad habit of daydreaming, so when stuff happens around her she is usually the last one to notice. Her room is quite messy, as she isn't a very organised person. She is also quite spontaneous as she thinks life is dull if everything is planned ahead.

Riona has a green thumb and enjoys gardening and nature in general. As she finds it relaxing and gives her plenty of room to think. She is independent and would rather do something fun alone than tag along with a crowd to do something she considers dull. When it comes to friendships she is very low-maintenance. You can take 2 weeks to reply to her text and she won't mind. She can be quite slow herself because she is so easily distracted and forgets about it.

Background:

Riona was born and raised in Ireland. Both her parents had decent paying jobs and their house had a nice little garden. Riona liked the little garden, but she also loved to take a stroll through some nearby woods. She liked wandering outside a lot better than just sitting at the same desk every day at school. Where she would often disappear into her own thoughts until the lecture was over.

She had a good relationship with her parents. And didn't mind sharing the attention from them with her little brother when he was born. She would help out babysitting him, and liked how it made her feel like a responsible big sister. Sometimes babysitting was fun, other times she felt the noisy little thing stole all her freetime.

Other than looking after the flowers she planted in the family's garden. Riona liked to hang with her friend-group from school. Most of them were really into gaming and had the latest consoles. Riona's parents didn't want to buy her one as they were afraid it would take her focus away from school and her "better" hobbies. However, she got a green Gameboy Advance SP as a hand-me-down from an older cousin. And Riona was really happy with it as it came with many good games. Also, most of her friends had an extra controller so she could play PS4 or Switch with them when she visited anyway.

One day when taking a walk outside she almost bumped into something. At first she thought it was a rock, then a wild animal so she quickly took a few steps backwards. But this creature was unlike anything she had ever seen before. The creature introduced itself and said it was a Digimon called Buckthormon. Riona had heard of digimon, but didn't know much about them.

Buckthormon could see the curiosity in Riona's eyes, and started to explain how she had been looking for her. And how they were meant to be partners. Riona asked Buckthormon some questions about digimon and the digital world. Occasionally interrupted by Riona poking her or something to make sure she wasn't imagining the whole conversation. When Riona heard there were other humans who had met digimon just like her called "tamers" she took out her phone to Google it. Dropping her gameboy from her pocket in the progress.

When Riona leaned down to pick it up she also saw a small pink shard. She picked both up and the shard merged with the gameboy, creating a digivice. After that, she learned of the Digimon Factions through the internet and was invited to join The Lune. But the campus were located in Japan, far away from Ireland. Riona knew she needed her parent's permission to be able to go. So Riona ran home while Buckthormon stayed behind. As the Digimon explained that most humans didn't know that Digimon were real, and they could get scared.

When Riona got home she told her parents about this cool new school in Japan. She didn't mention digimon. Just how the school focused on biology and Math and stuff. Her parents were happy she finally showed interest in learning. They also knew how much she had wanted to see more of the world. So Riona was allowed to go if she promised to call them often. Which Riona happily agreed.

After that, Riona ran outside to the spot were she had met Buckthormon. Hoping she hadn't imagined it all. The digimon had waited patiently for her to return. Riona started to make up ideas on how they could convince the airline to give her two seats. But Buckthormon stopped her, and said she could de-digivolve into Briarmon to fit in her backpack, and it worked.

So they traveled to Japan to start their Digimon adventure.

Buckthormon has a natural affinity with nature. She enjoys being outside in "wild" areas, and dislikes being indoors or in very industrial areas for too long. She is a realist who says things as they are. She can be quite blunt and even rude as she doesn't like to sugar-coat things. She prefers logical conclusions and plans over creative ones. Buckthormon believes everyone should fight for what they think is right. And has a clear vision of what she deems is and is not acceptable. She believes hard work is the key to success. Also, she is not afraid to step in if she feels someone is treated unfairly. Buckthormon can be judging when others don't hold themselves to the same high standards and morals as herself.

While Buckthormon is quite different from Riona when it comes to structure and ideas, they both share a love for nature. With Riona's creativity and Buckthormon's logic they can come up with better ideas and strategies together. Their biggest problem is Buckthormon's urge to clean their room and keep it 100% tidy. Leading to Riona not finding anything and having to listen to Buckthormon's complaining when she "messes" it up again. But it's not that bad as they mostly use their room for sleeping anyway.

Saplimon summons leaves around itself or someone close by. It can use these leaves to hide or just make a comfy nest for itself.

In-Training: Briarmon

Briarmon stir up a small wind, blowing leaves and small rocks at the opponent.
Rookie: Buckthormon

Attack 1: Emerald Dazzle
The gem on Buckthormon's head gives off a bright light. Capable of temporary blinding the opponent if they are standing too close. Can also be used as a flashlight to light up a small area.

Attack 2: Wild Scratch
Quickly slashes the opponent one of more times.
Champion: Goldthormon

Attack 1: Golden Kick

Goldthormon uses its strong hind legs to swiftly kick it's target. It can send smaller targets flying.

Move 2: Gleaming Blaster
Goldthormon uses the floating gems around its head to shoot a bright energy beam at the target. Might leave the target dazzled.
