This is Klofen the cloud Kau, he belongs to my dear friend .

When it came to picking a character for Rene to draw I came to the realization that I haven't drawn Klofen in a long freakin' time, or a Neopet for that matter. I remember he was a dreamer at heart, a very tender and loving creature even though he had a dark inner secret. After his trials he became extremely weary, and it was written in his features and how he held himself. When I decided to draw him I wanted to show that age and yet at the same time display some of his youthfulness from his carefree days, so I put him in a dream scene: Endless fields on a sunny day, watching the clouds roll by; picking out shapes. I was listening to the instrumental version of Sleepy Lagoon, by Harry James; the song really fueled this piece.

I tried something a little different to get the dreamy effect, using a Gaussian blur AND a motion blur; I'm really pleased with the end result, I may try using it again. I also decided that I wasn't going to be too anatomically correct on this anthro chibi, seems DA has a problem with exposed nut sacks and sheaths.

Sleepy Lagoon

A sleepy lagoon, a tropical moon and two on an island
A sleepy lagoon and two hearts in tune in some lullabyland
The fireflies' gleam reflects in the stream
They sparkle and shimmer
A star from on high falls out of the sky
And slowly grows dimmer
The leaves from the trees all dance in the breeze
And float on the ripples

Of roses and dew
The memory of this moment of love
