I was listening to The Joker by the Steve Miller Band about a fortnight ago while I was working on a previous picture and it really reminded me of Blue and all the things he could be at once. It got me thinking about drawing the three most active outfits he wears, I realized though that I wanted to add something new and different. So I went with this look. It's got this Rasta revolutionary feel with a touch of neo-nerd added to it. His sunglasses are round and are held in place by elastic strings wrapped around the base of his ears. I had to use a few clothing references for the pants, undershirt, and shoes to get the feel of them, and when I noticed how empty the over shirt was I went looking for a nice picture to put on it. At first I was gonna put Jimi Hendrix, but then Easy Skanking came on my player and I knew which revolutionary artist to put on Blue shirt. You gotta love good old Robert Marley.

I didn't even notice how thin Blue's muzzle was until I had finished inking in Photoshop, but now that I'm looking at it all colored I think it might just be how some strands of Blue's hair is sticking out of his Rasta hat; it makes his head look wide. Also, this is my second attempt to actually draw Blue to scale - well, as to scale as one can get in a drawing -, he's six feet four inches tall; the position of his arms is a little iffy, but I like the way his legs came out. I used a number of patterns to get the cloth textures that I wanted. Overall I'm rather happy with the end result. Once I start working on my site again I'm gonna draw up a few more images for Blue's sub site.
