Here we are again with another commission! Once more this piece is for Hellbender DX who was kind enough to ask for another of my chibi works.This time it's a picture of Yuki and Ilkea who are brother and sister cabbits, a fan adaptation of the cabbit Ryo-Ohki found on the Tenshi Muyo! manga/anime series. They're close so I thought a pose of them playing around would be nice. Here we have Yuki (blue haired male) lifting Ilkea (teal haired female) off the ground. Ilkea is just stupefied with wonder and awe at how strong her big brother is. One of those "Kyaaa~ Onii-chan is so strong!" moments, hence the silly "Kids in America" title.
I had a lot of fun with the pose and I'm pretty proud of myself. To be honest I'm not very good with 'group' pictures so I tried hard to make it feel fluid. I think what helped was going with a pure wire frame base for the sketch instead of my usual shapes. Also I found this great tutorial on making citrus fruit slices from scratch. That helped me greatly with the border, and it was easy too!

i love love love the drippy boarder, especially how smooth and straight the lines are in it. The female's breast looks off, as if it extends to much into the foreground. Maybe if highlights were added where her ribcage would be, it would make a smoother transition. I understand why you did it, for the boob-squish. (so fun!) but with the way the shadows are worked, it seems as though her torso is turned slightly away from the viewer the closer to the other cabbit she gets. the fruit slices are delicious.

Hmm, I do believe you have a point here about the boob squish. Maybe if I added more shadows and less highlights it would look a little better?

I swear you can almost smell the citrus on this piece.

I'm glad you like the citrus, they were fun to make, even though I'm just a beginner at making them. I'm sure with a little practice they'll come out better next time. ^^
