Description My second favorite running joke in the series.

I'm not totally satisfied with the Tyler drawing, but I've redone it, like, 10 times. I'll be working on the Sierra and Izzy one next.

As always, comments, critiques, questions, and requests are always welcome.

There are cheaper alternatives out there, such as Paint Tool Sai and even Gimp, which is a free download

Nah, money's not really a problem with me, but if you don't mind me asking, how do you get different shades of a single color to transition to one another realistically, like Tyler's jacked for example?

The way I normally do that is by lowering the opacity on the photoshop brush I'm using and color over that with a soft brush using a similar color. I then use the color picker to get the color that makes, and then paint over the edge of it. Then I repeat that until it is a smooth transition. Using a softer brush hardness also helps.

I wish I could explain it better, because I'm not sure if that makes any sense.

That ... is a lot of text. Probably the most I've ever seen in one comment (I understand its from your essay). Its good to see you're so passionate about how a character is handled. The boyfriend bit was probably the biggest bummer and seemed like an easy out for her character, but as its been said before TDA was just a fantastic example of character derailment. Courtney? Batshit crazy. Justin? Evil somehow? Beth ... well, you have that whole essay to explain those finer points.

This is one of the things I enjoy about Total Drama, its rare for a western cartoon to actually feature characters who change and develop as the series goes on, something is different at the end of each episode, there is no status quo for things to revert back to.

Hmm, since you're so passionate about it, I could go ahead and try to do a Beth piece for ya.

Thanks. You don't have to as art should be fun and feeling forced to make a artwork on somebody or something you dislike will make it feel like work.

As I wrote that came from the essay I'm writing (more as a stress and angry to get off my back as the show provides passion in me but not the passion I would like in the long run of anger, derailments and could of been and what ifs (though many companies have done What If stories before that has been entertaining, enlightening, funny, and tragic)). Reading it over again I found many grammar and mix-ups but I'll fix those latter in the essay.

For me I believe the show should be more of a character driven and growing show vs pure task driven or eh attempts at humor(most not written well or potty humor which is low brow and has been done to often on the show) or drama show. That being written the characters since (and in some points during) TDI hasn't been developed or well treated and written thus the show suffers. A character based and driven show that focuses on more developing and coming of age plots (and of course as Pixar's (a company I could not praise enough for there quality and character handling) motto goes "Story is King!").

I have many ideas of what could of been, what I like to see (and many different ideas there too) and how structures not just on Beth whom I'm the most passionate about and invested in right now but for almost all (and for the few I have ideas (or at least decent ideas) I'm sure there is many others who might)).

You wrote that the characters change as the show goes on unfortunate while I would rather have the cast be more bonded (idea and trope that inspired it in these links [link] and [link] ) the characters are changing but not in the positive way (or ways) but more negative ways (cheating, rudeness up, homicidal, lack of common sense out the door, ect) in the long run. Also I feel one of the biggest cons currently of the show is that the writers are trying to keep the labels/stereotypes that the characters started with and so that holds back majority of growth in all of the characters.
I think labels should not remain (or the writers try there best to keep them around and hurt the characters and thus the show itself) evolve/change into something entirely new from start to finish and we need to see that slow but continuing positive (or plot needed negative but understandable from good story structure and set up) change.

I would also like to see with the growth, development, and evolution the outfits change as well per season at least to show that growth in the ways the cast wears there new outfits and what they wear that defines them). I always wanted to have the characters each season to have a change of wardrobe and other small changes to show how though passage of time and experiences with others that the characters are growing like real people plus adds some ways to keep the characters from becoming visually dull from time.

I also hope they remove the whole voting for the final two and give a straight answer to the future season's end episodes as then we will have less forum wars that becomes annoying to see the flame wars from people.

I'm very sad how badly done TDA went (and TDWT had really bad moments and just as bad character usage and derailments sadly) as not only that should of been the season to use the characters who had little to no screen time on TDI (though most of the cast outside of Justin, Beth, Harold, and eventually Cortney that did not go to the merger in the first season didn't even play or talk in the second which was a huge shame and poor choice of favoritism it felt like). Also the location had me more happily worked up than TDI.

Unlike most people I DIDN'T start watching the show on TDI but on TDA ! The reason is because I'm not a Survivor fan so a animated show that was a animated Survivor with stereotypes didn't interested me. However after the season ended my brother told me about the show and how it was better than he thought it would be and that got me to see the show starting on TDA. My brother quickly told me the characters bio and the basics to keep me up to date.

Now to me each season in premise and area of the location(s) has different interest to me and different ranges:
TDI: Survivor animated show on a camp island (Me: eh doesn't catch my fancy)
TDA: On a film studio lot and (supposedly) pays houmous tribute to the many wonderful types of movie genres and show the ACTION and power and magic or the movies (Me: WOW I love movies and the entertainment industry and it's history! I worked at a movie theater and I worked in a entertainment company that gave me much passion and great memories! Plus the last work in the title is ACTION! This sounds thrilling and hopeful! With so many genre types they can provide interest tales to be unfolded! )
TDWT: Playing and going around the world and seeing different cultures while preforming songs per episode (Me: The singing thrills and worries me as I seen bad and good songs come from TV shows (I love musicals and have sen many Broadway shows and done many community theater shows as well) but going around the world!? Sounds fantastic! The sights, icons, and cultures of the world that the TD cast may find and interested with has me pumped!)

In the end though from the way the seasons was made effected and ruined much. From not seeing TDI (though I did when TDA had half the season done and I began watching them on youtube in conjunction to TDA so i saw both finals around the same time) but even without that TDI knowledge and just from the few basics my brother told me I saw much problems (understatement). My brother kept on saying "This isn't how (insert character) was like in the past?!" or some similar form of that comment. He didn't bother watch TDWT after the disappointment of TDA (for many reasons well know plus he wasn't fond of Duncan being a jerk making it to the final four AGAIN (in TDWT he made it to the final five again) and then being in the final two (Duncan has had much advertising and fans there was no reasonable way Beth who didn't have nearly the the same amount spotlight or fanbase due to poor choices and mismanagement of character and time was going to win (though I'm proven wrong in other countries happily as Duncan has lost votes to Beth in some other countries one interesting and noticeable is Brazil where she lead by 94% in the beginning of the polls and won with over 85% and I have my theories why but I'll let that rest right now and put that into the Beth essay project I'm slowly doing)).
I do believe it was not bad location(s) but bad usage and overall what happened at the locations that the locations and premise idea now are associated with the overall badness of that season. I actually hope in future seasons (if so lucky to last) they do go back around the world (plenty of areas they didn't hit) and go back to the set (the can redo so genres and touch ones they didn't do but hopeful do them (the overall seasons and characters it/themselves) right and tribute to the long proud history they come from) to remove the bad spirits we feel of the areas from what transpired before.

I'm now only watch TD now based on one reason: hope. Hope the characters will get better, hope they fix and save others, hope the writings will improve, hope for many more. I feel passion for the characters and I hope for the best.

Can't blame Tyler! Love your art, greatly enjoy seeing how characters look outside their normal art form and in other styles, and very sexy BE (Lindsay already had big breasts though now she is more ample)! These two are among my top ten favorites TD characters and I hope you will do the other TD gals not done just to see how they appear in your works!
Also to save time I like the Eva picture second as Eva is among the couple (Sadie, Katie, Eva, Beth, and some guys) NOT drawn by people due to lack of time and/or for some appearances and other factors so she was a pleasure to see made and she looks awesome!

Thanks! I like the style that the show has, but one thing I really like to do is try to reimagine characters from things like that. Take those designs and make them obey something closer to reality. Or at least more comic-book-y

I'll try to get around to the others, but beyond the mythical Izzy piece that I'm not actually working on I'm not making any promises. Beth in particular since TDA made me dislike her so much.

As for the Eva, yeah, no one really draws her and she's presented as so angry and unsexy that I pretty much took that as a challenge.

ah to bad.
I curious as to what makes you dislike so much Beth from TDA (I always like to learn in detail what makes different characters disliked or liked and possibly how it should of been in their feelings (aka if you were given in charge of the characters you dislike how would you use and change them) and I think I know about Beth and the negative thoughts as I am making a list and essay on this and my disappointments and how I wish things were and still hope to be for characters future's plots and interactions).

As for Eva you were a success on that challenge (here is hoping she (and a couple of others) gets on in a future season and develops positively and very importantly wisely with good time management)!

She did nothing throughout all of TDA except talk about her theoretical boyfriend and she just kept advancing, she also held back Lindsay. In general I just didn't care for most of TDA, I ended up giving up part way through and only watching the last episode. I was all kinds of ok with her not being in TDWT.

I'm not saying it'll never happen, but I'm more likely to do a character the more I like them.

I understand that (I have many ideas of artwork if using the TD characters but I to feel if I do try to attempt them I would be mainly using the characters that I like and/or has my interest and/or see more potential in). The characters I'll probably focus on are the one I feel emotional connections with and such (note not likes or dislikes but emotional connections and that can come from how I feel writers are using you (well then you may be like but not in my mind often but unused or misused then you will be in my thoughts).

You and I have a difference in options but I know that with a vast world of different people there will be (or else the world would be boring) so while disappointed I understand and respect your views. The one thing I can agree with is the Brady boyfriend subplot. That was all kinds of HORRIBLE (and I still feel that would be an understatement). For me and Beth she is actually one of my favorites for a few reasons but she is my top interest in character's development and plots as thanks to TDA (particularly how BAD the writers of TDA was using her (and not just her but it seemed like for everybody) (and I believe any character can be used well if written well)). Along the reasons I like Beth is not just her bad use from the writers and my brain being exercised in logic and imagination in thinking up ways it could of been better and may be better to me but also like many people who like characters who they see themselves in both Harold and Beth are the two I related to on TD.

To make things go by quicker in my detail expansion of my thoughts and feelings about her I'm copying and pasting a VERY VERY small part of that report I'm typing that deals with Beth particularly (and only based on what you wrote as there is so much more I have about her and the horribleness she was made with, how I see her character as and could be, how I wish things were done, how I hope things will be, how I think certain characters can develop better (with plots, interactions, separations and so on)). This report/project was started when a friend ask why I like Beth and most how I fell the seasons has been to her, the characters, and how the writers have been doing. She told me to put all my thoughts and feelings into it (and doing so my frustrations and disappointments as well). So that started on October of 2010 and while I usually don't type for many weeks difference at a time my feelings and thoughts (not for the lack of them but lack of time and plus time management to what really important such as life itself and job hunting). This project has gone past 30 pages single space and still going (probably never be completed). I should probably make a chapter index for this personal project to help keep place.

Important to note: I hate the instant (Note: I HATE this word mainly if deadly with characters and storytelling writings and this dreaded word will appear often sadly for TDA)) boyfriend subplot (and a couple of other things in almost every episode on TDA minus the second to last episode which to me was one of not only the better of TDA but also one of the better usage of Beth)) and as for Lindsay (who I like more than Beth but not have as much interest due to I feel better usage (though still some faults down the line) from three seasons used)I'll put a small part from the report in here to (though I haven't yet finished that area yet). I still have to go organize the work and thoughts and write the rest of my thoughts down but since I have more important things to do (job hunting so unless this actually gets my a job working on TD or some show) than worry about a TV show and the fictional characters that comes from it plus the long detailed report probably won't get done in the near future (and I hate putting things off).

"I have an emotional attachment to the show and its characters (to me characters, positive development, and of course story is king over time wasting jokes that can derail characters plus I dislike instant stuff (instant relationship or love/lust with no background showing such or instant stupidly or hate or whatever, and going against character and continuity)."

"To me Beth is among my likes for what she was and I think she is meant to be and also the possibilities I see in her that my mind creates and was exercised after seeing some of the worst writing and character handling, mismanagement of time, and interactions/focus VS HOW she was used on the show."

"I'm going to cover another problem: the instant Brady, its handling, and thoughts on it from what I seen during the episodes and before, and the problems anything !instant! can give) before going over this one major problem (Leisure Suit Larry with a relationship) that hurts her.

For Beth: one of her biggest current faults is actually to me a giant fault from the writers and derailed her and had her do OOC moments and action for plot and jokes that was bad and worse destructive to her character (what was they (the writers) thinking).

Beth is a nice girl and has more potential but the writers I think are doing a horrid job on her for the sake of bad jokes. The Brady ("I have a boyfriend") thing came instant out of the blue and I personally believe it was a stunt on the writers trying a running gag with Beth that was destructive and horrible to Beth's character. In the beginning based on what I saw I feel half of the writers planed Brady to be not real but just some joke they added in while the others wanted to support Brady's existence. In the end they wrote themselves into a bad corner and since Beth (whom being a nice girl (or at least should be with some faults to keep her away from sue-doom)) isn't a lair Brady in the end had to be real but thus offer major computations. Overall the Brady thing was suppose to be a joke but the writers failed as it wasn't funny and such jokes (some might help the characters or plots while some do nothing on any accounts but this one was a destructive joke that they didn't think about future compactions) hurt Beth. My belief is that the writers need to take her (and everybody else as she isn't the only one who was hurt by bad writing in hope of jokes and such) more seriously and her actions and past seriously. They are trying to have a comic relief character but even joke characters have to be played seriously but Beth is instead not. I like her and I like that she is (intended to be) a nice girl and for the most part has good personality (particular in TDI which I get the feeling they knew what they were doing for the most part and plans for the season) but the way they handle her is appalling to me.

She wasn't the only one hurt with this poor subplot joke. I'm not found of rudeness (even if you a using rudeness to counterattacked rudeness as like fighting fire with fire you just get a bigger flame that burns all). This rudeness will become more important later but when Beth brought up her instant (that word just makes my blood boil) Boyfriend thinking in terms of perspective and how I might handle myself as a competitor and person if I was there in the beginning I would just leave it alone not try to counter it or you can come off rude or not let it die by putting wood to the flame. That episode while I found Beth annoying for constantly bringing it up she was also self defending herself at the same time which I couldn't hold against her so I dislike how the others just fueled it. In the ends that gag was bad for everybody and the episode itself (and the writers failed to see this).

Let's do some role-playing:
Insert yourself sitting down watching this happen from a small distance as a player and view it again this time as the person being commented to while you are in a off camera/unknown about relationship. Here the characters come...
"How can YOU have a boyfriend/girlfriend?
You having a boyfriend/girlfriend? HA!
No we could NEVER think YOU could be dating." and ect...

Attacks don't just come in physical form but can be even more hurtful in vocal abuse and attacks. As humans we are conditioned to not just defend against attacks but go on the offensive. Every denial said (and adding stealth insults while doing so) just makes things go worse as the need to counter and prove becomes more driven. These attacks was not just on her truthfulness of relationship but the possibility that she could even be in a relationship at all in her life due to factors they all were indicating thus attacks on her, her honor, and overall being.

Where this joke fails ultimately when everything is counted is in realism. Now on this show realism is not considered at all in the shows making (which is OK in short terms but bad in long and horrible overall in plots and jokes). Many professional experienced comedians as been said that jokes/humor at its core and best when played with realism and bounces and analogizes it. With no realism in the joke at all it falls flat and failure. Now I'm not a comedian and I'm not a guy who can make jokes (as said "dying is easy, comedy is hard") but to even give some more realism into the argument Beth has more time would have been needed for the boyfriend comments to have weight behind them. Now on this show if it's not on camera than it couldn't happen (or no advancements can happen if not on camera or you’re backstage).
For example season 5 started and both Gwen and Courtney trying to kill each other as expected from what we seen thanks to season 3 and both are removed early in season 5. Then near the end of season 5 when we see the voted off contestants again Gwen and Courtney are friends again. One of the characters then asks "What happen?! I thought you two are enemies?" Their response is: "Off set we talk and made peace." That can't happen on the show!
The reason why is while it possible in real life as far as this show goes their characters CAN'T : get stronger, become more independent, setup friendships and conflicts, settle plots, and so on all while off-screen. As soon as they are not on air they might as well be in time capsules frozen (even though by today's multimedia you have many ways to tell a tale such as: fake: cannon character blogs, twitter accounts, facebook, websites, website video games, and youtube short videos all outside the TV spotlight but still available to give information).
Back to Beth she technically only had TWO DAYS to meet Brady (while getting her braces off) and develop a relationship (in movies that might happen but in real life that is a big stretch). Also Beth was crushing on Justin (though so was many others already in a relationship) and base on her past and profile personality that seemed strange to have a boyfriend yet still be that open. Putting all this together that need realism to give some small validation was not there. Past actions and relationships has been seen before thus alignment but these new facts and info (the boyfriend) was just instantly spilled out of nowhere with little to no setup. The writers must of understood somewhat the problem as they had Leshawna comment to Beth about hitting on Justin while having a boyfriend and the best the writers could think up was: "Justin's a supermodel"?! I felt that the caring for characters wasn't there when they was writing this season.

What in the world made the writers write such things? As I wrote it could be simply for a running joke gone horribly wrong and hurt Beth and those around her. Another theory I read in a form was that Justin was suppose to be the main antagonist and Beth had a huger plot/arc and settings being prepared for her but Justin due to poor planning the writers made him to lazy or/and vain worried to be a effective antagonist and had to be aborted the arc and send in Courtney to replace him. With the Justin arc abandoned so was Beth's main drive/arc and setup and they had to quickly make a new thing to keep her character occupied in some form. Thus the Brady subplot/jokes which everybody felt were very poor.

I see so much more potential and possibilities in her thus my interest in her and I want her to have better plots, interactions, and development than what has happened on TDA (TDA isn't seen as very good for particularly any of the characters derailing most of them and poor writing and jokes). Now the pole thing on TDWT Aftermath one comment again I believe they wanted to use Beth as a joke (which it was more funny than her other things they used her for but still questionable). They can say she was playing around in joking fashion but the people (creators/writers) need to treat her much better and remember continuity and more serous treatment. If they did Beth could gain a huge fanbase and really shine high and be loved by more people and respect (plus have some more things on TVtropes "Crowning moment of..." other than wallbanger. She has some skills and is intelligent and has grown stronger from her past and isn't taking abuse from others in the past so they need to up her in her development and "take a level in badass" and everybody treating her with more seriousness (same goes for some others). Based on her past and what I've seen and read she can become anything if done right and reasoning.

The biggest reason why TDA is greatly disliked is due to taking characters and derailing them and making them act OOC or over the top and the consistency was sketchy with no thought in canon and seriousness and in the end if you didn't watch TDA then when watch TDWT the ONLY thing you needed to know was that Gwen and Trent is no longer a couple and maybe that Beth has a boyfriend who isn't a player on the game named Brady if they do anything with him also just to keep that in mind when handling Beth herself. TDA hurt EVERYONE and hurt their characterization just for bad, hazardous, not thought well into jokes that are the reason it is greatly disliked the most I think. Her crushing on Justin was fine with me and I wave-off (somewhat) as EVERYBODY on his team (remember even Lindsay (who loves Tyler was crushing on Justin plus was making moves on Trent in the TDI canoe episode)) was doing so but that whole Harold sudden crush on fiasco (and I like these two and I see myself in these two (his abuse from bulling and his Honor and Beth trying to be kind but other try to use plus when done well by the writers I see myself in her and they as well as many are among the people I have crack couple on but even so every couple and start needs to be HANDLED well and in character/canon with reasons and logic for all actions) was again just used without thinking how it was destructive to Beth (and Harold based on his behavior and manners taking a big negative turn out of the blue for me) and wasn't funny but that is why the writers put it in as it wasn't for serous drama but humor they thought they could wave off .

Now the whole Beth being a female "Leisure Suit Larry" and the problem with it. I wouldn't have a problem with her hit on everyone (such as: Justin, Harold, and even including the pole) IF she didn't have a boyfriend!
I would have liked to see Beth in a serious relationship rather than throwing her around INSTANTLY (when this horrible word (Instant) as far as story telling goes pops up it's not usually good) with the Harold thing (her liking Harold as a friend and seeing and relating to him based on actions a treatment she got in the past and her hometown (it puts that she wants to be part of the crowd and tries but is denied plus in a confession on TDA when mentioning her doubts (and rightfully so) of the "Courtney alliance" she states she was tricked into doing others homework with hopes of acceptance and in the end betrayal and then said "NEVER AGAIN!") making her understanding him would of been a far better and sweeter and MORE in character (people posted before the episode that Beth showed to have at least some common sense in the series for the most part and was also so when a picture was leaked that Harold and Beth kissing it just boggled everybody as her disloyalty seemed very OOC plus very sudden (!instant!)) thing for her as she seems to stand up for her friends (like she did for Bridgette in Aftermath one of TDWT) which I loved and felt was more loyal to her character than majority of TDA but I don't see in her character being disloyal (I could see her be a somewhat of a "Leisure Suit Larry" and be funny yet still nice and acceptable IF she WASN'T in a relationship (there are many Leisure Suit Larry characters on TV and movies with mix results based on personality and such but the ones that work usually don't have a serous relationship and when they do if based on there personality if they are nice/kind/or many other positive attributes they usually are loyal to the relationship till they are no longer in it than they might return to the Leisure Suit Larry routine) and become but do to trying to be funny they put her in one thus now they must understand the fault and try to fix it and her instead of denying it and not bringing it up as that invisible spiritual boulder of shame and overall bad will be on her (and EVERYONE on the show if not the show itself has some sort of a shameful bad plot writing/derailing characters boulder that needs to be acknowledged before it can be fixed and removed))).

Well I would love Beth/Brady to have a story (anything Brady wise is nonexistent right now plus I would love if Brady to not just show up on the show but be a contestant (and I'm not big on adding more main characters to an already huge cast (26 characters with mixed usage and stereotypes plus Chris and Chef) that is already to crowded for some characters to have time to shine) to: show how the relationship works between the two (plus relationships helps characters gain more attention and fanbase help if done right(hopefully not like Geoff and Bridgette from TDA)), for the WRITERS (and overall people) to remember Brady, and get an understanding of his character (whom I hope the series will look into his character and the relationship to give us a good understanding on how it works without overfeeding on the relationship like some others had on the show). Also with Brady around with both Brady and Beth they can bring up (or be called out) and deal the massive fault from before on TDA and have Beth apologize and give some patching to Beth while showing the love of Beth and Brady making them a strong sweet couple.
I'll write again if they needed to add a new character to the series (with an already very large cast at 26) I rather give Brady a shot as he was already introduce instead of making somebody new. Doing so would be a big waste as at least having past cast characters who didn't do much, overshadowed, derailed, or was boring and/or wasted could of been used that season to improve them and develop for that season (as sitting on the side lines doesn't give limelight nor development time for anybody unless the fans felt the character(s) was used to many times and needed a break for a short while (and there are some as seem from memes)). I would rather have my top 10-15 disliked characters used again as the cast competing then a new cast as then that season maybe half of the characters I'm not fond of might then would have a season to well written changed (not OC but setup the steps in developing well into a better position) and be moving away from my dislike to fighting into my high likes. (Now with TD "Revenge of the island" the added 12 it comes to a cast of 37! How can you properly give limelight and development in a timely manner to a cast of 37 (I don't know the new characters to say I like them or not but I HATE the high number that will cause problems time wise for many leaving many in the dust)).

Beth: (I see so much possibilities and potential in her for more than what's been shown from her limited time (granted she has more time then some others but far less then the other half that has taken to much time stealing the spotlight over and over again) and she is kind (yet among the many greatly misused by the writers in my option) yet people bash her because of reasons such as she doesn't look like a model or hate her being nice among other reasons (many illogical) that upsets me and sadden me). Any other faults I read people post about her outside of looks and voice (which I feel would be best for Beth if they took her voice and just made it a bit deeper (and people growing up do have there voice change slightly from age) so it's not to high and squeaky which to me also happened since on TDA) however any other reasons I read are more understandable (though most also makes me sad as it usually faults I found in the writers over the possibilities she could of been).

Brady: Beth's REAL boyfriend (whom I was reading posts of people bashing Beth in the past for "making up" the boyfriend (they now seem to be silent about that ) plus it was a positive moving scene to see he was real) and the bad running gag that was at fault with the writers not the character). He seems to have disappeared yet again and I would like it if he became a contestant (or least interacted with others in the cast) to showcase his character plus give an understanding to how the strong romance between Beth and Brady works among other things (plus it might help his lack of fanart and fanfiction of him and Beth as it appears people and maybe the writers are forgetting he exists and they made him).

To me the only two positive things that came from the horrible running boyfriend Brady joke/derailment presented itself during the sports theme episode as well as the very end of the season.
After much mocking and told Beth can't have a boyfriend the verbal attacks became a rage fuel for Beth. During the Sports episode while battling Heather in battalion Beth looked unsure and probably going to lose over the mentally ready and sure Heather. Then Leshawna (who in season one I like but her month and actions plus huge pride and no tact in season two and three has hurt her character and is very upsetting) unleashed Beth with the mocking words: "you don't have a boyfriend." CUE: BERSERK BUTTON, UNLEASHED RAGE, and Pint size Power house, and Curb Stomp battle in one against Heather! Heather gets her but whooped and knocked down by a rubber bird and Beth is victorious. Leshawa then not learning a lesson from what she saw continues to say the comment again and Beth has her vengeance by showing an unpleasant (understatement) nasty video of Leshawna mocking everyone. To me the one positive is it empowered her (with anger unfortunately but Beth seemed back in control of herself for a time after winning) and that to me was awesome as Beth before then didn't have a power moment since the start of TDA (though she did help her team with the challenge in making a fake sand castle after Trent ruined the first (that !instant! nine problem ).
The second positive of the whole Brady thing was he was real and shows up in a final TDA episode which was sweet (which after much persuading and talk from Beth the writers had to have him show up because they "beat the dead horse" of a bad running joke to hell and so had to have a small pay off with him existing)."

Now my feelings on the Beth and Lindsay friendship. You and I both weren’t thrilled with how it was presented and used on TDA BUT for different reasons... You felt that Lindsay was getting held back but for me it was the other way around with Beth getting pushed aside.

"The friendship with Lindsay and Beth was sweet and I did like it yet while Lindsay was around it seemed the writers when showing them focused more on Lindsay (I guess they had more ideas with her at the time) so doing TDA Between the two teams it felt like the Team Duncan was on got better focus and when Beth's team as shown she was pushed to the side away from the others as they took the limelight plus friendships are nice but watching TD has me thinking the writers don't know what to do with friendships (so they put more into conflicts due to the drama part of Total Drama yet the conflicts I see don't impress me nor are made or handled well alot of times). When the characters who are friends are split up do I feel forces the writers to use the characters as individuals (which leads to either mixed results or the writers avoid using them (like what happened to Sadie on TDI) alot). So far from what I have seen one of the recent friendships that has been positives and good was the Noah and Owen friendship as for me it added to Noah's character (and helped Owen a little bit as well) in the end instead of character derailment or hiatus and the VERY limited time the Gwen/Courtney friendship was around I liked. What both Noah and Owen had and Gwen and Courtney had was structure, setup, and strengthening, plus differences in characters personality. Noah was sarcastic but at the same time was the straight man while Owen is the positive thinker, happy go lucky, fall man. As a comedy team they work out due to good structure and setup of the two. The different personalities was also able to play off of each other plus I wasn't a fan of Noah till season three due to I feel the friendship help show more of a kind side to the grouchy cynical Noah and in return Owen in season Three became more go getting in the games and slightly more attempts to think strategically which strengthened Owen a bit as well. In a bit of clash yet working order and helping of both characters the friendship worked and was enjoyable. Gwen and Courtney had differences in personality but found a common bond. They helped each other be better (and not just players but as people) for the short time as friends. In the episode with the sea shanty song Courtney admit at being at fault which she would never do on TDA (she would be quick to blame others then herself) thus that action was a big step for her (also she tried to get the camera for saying that which I felt that running joke was funny as it last only one episode and I can se Gwen, Heather and Courtney trying to grab the camera so the needed support past personality realism was there to support the gag). Then in the London episode once they saw they were at the wrong place well... here are two versions Courtney one TDA (heck even TDI) and one as of London TDWT:

TDA:
(Beth and Courtney go to a location and find they made a mistake)
Beth: Courtney I think this is the wrong place.
Courtney: WHAT! This is YOUR fault! Why did I make an alliance with you!? You are useless... (ect) I'm calling my LAWYERS!

TDWT:
(Gwen and Courtney go to a location and find they made a mistake)
Gwen: Courtney I think this is the wrong place.
Courtney: I'm disappointed but we tried our best.

WOW What a change!

Further more it seems Courtney is willing to listen to Gwen and respects her and her ideas unlike TDA Courtney when during the space challenge Beth had a view she wanted to say but Courtney cover her mouth and made all the choices without listening first (which was a bad choice of Courtney's) which Beth didn't stand for the disrespect and being controlled just to help somebody who she disliked due to her actions and treatment she has given to Beth (and Lindsey her best friend) (Note: Heather did that in season one trying to control Beth in TDI resulted in making Beth stronger when Beth stood up against Heather and Beth learned from such actions of the past thus come TDA she didn't let Courtney try the same thing without consequences). If the Courtney of now (being the Courtney before going crazy again and having a friendship with Gwen) was the Courtney of TDA she probably gone to the final two or three and have a better interaction (maybe friendship with thou by the way she kept attacking Lindsey in TDA who was Beth best friend it would be questionable) with Beth.
One thing that I hope relationships/friendships bring out the development/betterment of the two and unfortunately it seems these two once together don't help each other in being better people. (Until it all came crashing down after the return of Duncan and both went strong to... let's skip ahead).

Beth is a small girl by design and I believe they made her small (plus wearing an outfit that many called the girl scout outfit) so she be more youthful than the others like a innocence but naive that small kids have and lose when growing up (season one particular stands out (I wish they had different outfits per season to represent even the smallest of changes)). Beth wasn't made to be a sex symbol unlike the many other gals (who to me look like stick figures so that does worry me) but in doing so her appearance and personality is different from many of the others and doing so added more variety to the large cast pot. But with a slightly less proactive plots and personality that was given and continued for the most part in the seasons plus her small size Beth becomes easy to overlook. In real life the taller people will stand out while the smaller people will be in the shadows. Plus since she was made not to be a looker people often will pass her by while good looking people get viewed easily. This cause a character balancing problem on the show.

Now Beth and Lindsey have many things different but one thing major similarity which hurt the friendship's TV viewing/support. Beth is small while Lindsay is tall, Beth is not a looker on the show while Lindsay (is debatable as it depends on who you are a major fan of) the hottest gal on the show, Beth comes from a farm and is poor, Lindsay is very rich and in the city, Beth is good with animals but tries to be good with people but is laughed at/ Lindsay is easy with popularity, Beth is considered naive and not good with people but smart and is a master of the arts/Lindsay...looks hot . Beth small size and average looks compared to Lindsay makes more people to look apron Lindsay and see her but Beth goes in the shadows of other members. They have a similar personality and both have high voices but that hurts them more than help. The other friendships I wrote had differences in the personalities and played off each other better because of that. Lindsay and Beth don't have the same chemistry. At best if the writers want/need (you don't know how things are behind the scenes greatly with "executive meddling" with may play some past faults) to use them again for comedy that not only do they need to have better jokes that don't hurt the characters but also I feel the writers need to buckle down and watch some classic "Abbot and Costello" films and other two people comedy teams that are successful to see how such flow and chemistry works. Based on what I've seen Beth can play the straight-man/everyman while Lindsay could be the funny timing part (Beth sets up and Lindsay knocks us down with Beth displaying what realistically a person might react to such event giving the realism needed).
In TDA I like what they were doing with Lindsay in have her attempt at being a leader when Trent was gone and Justin was losing his grip. This shows Lindsay's attempt empowerment and the attempt to be something more. As with many teams and a leader as learned from my Business classes it is common to have and range of different types and team classified members such as a second in command / Lancer which Beth played the part of (her job was to keep Lindsay focused and supply info and tactics when asked as is common for many seconds). They continued this in TDWT somewhat as when non-appointed leader Harold then strong willed appointed Leshwna was knocked out Lindsay took charge and Team Victory gain one victory and in Paris Lindsay was single-handedly going to win (until DJ accidentally smashed the statue).

I feel both Beth and Lindsay are better as individual characters and has more chances is be individual stronger once separated (not saying that can't be great together plus I do like friendships but id they were together again for another season the writers I fear will get lazy and them together will bait the writers to just do what the did with them on TDA so I think them separated forces the writers to do hopefully more and hopefully better (hopefully)). They are not the only one as I feel similar to Katie and Sadie that they need to separated (and end the friendship but by distance) and have one play one season while the other doesn't (furthering this since Katie and Lindsay are similar in personalities I feel it would be also best that they don't compete in the same season due to being to similar that would overpower and maybe bore the season down so in the season if Beth not playing I want Lindsay and Sadie to do so and the Season Lindsay not play Beth and Katie do so and have plots, develop individualist strengths, and so on)."

And just because it invokes both Beth and Lindsay (Another WTF poorly thought up and made episode of TDA)

"Another big "WTF!? What are you doing writers!" moment for Beth and Lindsay (and Owen) with me was in TDA the treatment of Gwen in the prison episode. Beth, Lindsay, and Owen is normally nice (and the general reason I like all three) so I think it was bad writing to use these three to verbally abuse Gwen and use her to cheat (yes I know Justin used his "powers" to convince them but it still is a WTF out of character moment episode for me). The only reason I can see for Beth to dislike Gwen so much that episode is because she trusted Gwen and finding out what Trent was doing and Gwen knowledge of it hurt her deeply (Beth didn't believe Justin (which base on his powers over her at the time that meant Beth had high respect and trust in Gwen) when she was told of the problems Trent was given them for Gwen and with puppy eyes ask Gwen is it true only to find out it was thus she might of felt her trust was betrayed (and Beth is growing in a way that betrayal of trust and being treated like dirt is something she won't stand for anymore and hates since TDI). That episode and the ones before it ( instant crazy !9! problem from Trent) is considered by many to be a very bad episodes, not made/written well, and further hurt many characters outside of their normalcy."

I'll end this off with this:

"For me I love thinking up many various yet logical and possible though good time management "what ifs" and future usages and ways characters can be better/stronger and have developments. Seeing the past and current faults and like a doctor seeing and recognizing a virus (or viruses) then developing ways to heal and make better. As far as interest in characters go If I think you are: underdeveloped, underrated, or highly misused by the writers and had many missed opportunities for development, or see many possibilities you will have my interest and in imagination in thinking up remedies and hopes that give me strength to continue to watch in the hopes they will come true. If you are in my dislike I still have hope for you (even if you make me very angry: Duncan ) for as long as the show goes on there is hope for: developments, good well written plots, characters taken seriously, and so forth but in order to see such things happening you have to be used and given some spotlight and time management (if you are a character who I feel has been used far to much taking so much time from other then a rest period/season should be taken first then return to be used and developed better upon arrival back in the game).

"I understand that they are characters of a show but: the lack of common sense, OOC moment, not following cannon info from before, hand-waves, what the writers believe in (which scares me a bit), hurting character's development and structure for attempt at jokes, and so many more problems in so many episodes has turned many off from the show (honestly I'm holding on and watching not for entertainment factors but mostly and simply from HOPE of better: plots, character development, characters I dislike becoming characters I like and making it hard to put up a top ten list with wanting to include everyone (minus Chris whom I dislike yet see as a necessary needs to be a villain for the show), better interactions, enemies to friends, fire forge friends/spiritual second family (all of them), and so on to which my mind likes to be creative and think up and such."

To me it's like messed up clay art that is still wet and moldable as long as the show goes on. When the show began each lump of clay (characters) was nothing when taken out of the packing. Then with time and carefully details each of the clay began to take form. Overall the clay that was out the longest vs the clay that got put back into a protective case (aka off screen or no to little development to date or on screen but didn't speak) would be more defined and loved (or hated depending on how to like what you see). The clay figures on display would be more beloved to the public however the figures/undryed wet lumps in the protective casing wouldn't get and looked at. But over time the clay out among the public after being out for so long would start to harden in its shape and harder to mold without special precautions. But the clay the protective hidden casing away from the public but also the environments remained soft thus easier to mold. This is how I see Sadie, Katie, Eva, Beth and all the others whom I see hasn't gotten the screen time and plots/development like others has. There characters are not set in stone (non of them truly are and couldn't be set down a path that could make us change our minds about them for the better or worse as even the smallish changes or additions can make big waves) but if they pull a skill out or show some sort of additional reasonable personality or hidden depth since we having known them for as long. For Beth the pieces of a special puzzle was shown in TDA and TDI and little bit in TDWT (interestingly enough some people found that Beth just from her small time on the Aftermaths of TDWT has shown more personality and interactions and better used (greatly in the first TDWT Aftermath which most enjoy over all the other Aftermaths that came before it) than in the season she was a finalist) that now she came be used if done right for any plot (she could even be an powerful protagonist or even an antagonist but that I think would require a full season to set up before doing so and her be different from other antagonists making her more of a tragic figure of a fallen hero suffering BSOD from being pushed to far and broken on the inside from before)."

That's both cute and funny; funny because that's still one of the show's better running jokes, and cute because she's concerned with having someone besides her boyfriend snuggle with her like that.

And also...it involves snuggling with mega-cleavage. How can that be anything EXCEPT awesome?!

Counselor in Training, Courtney mentions she was going to be a camp counselor a few times in TDI and it pops up a few more times throughout Action and World Tour
