Another long unfinished piece. I drew this about the same time I drew the last buff Peridot. I've got a few AUs floating around that this could probably be a thing in (Lapis, Peridot and Jasper just being a trio is too fun to not include somehow) so consider an AU where they have way more control over their projections and overall strength via absorbing magic, and they are buff as hell as a consequence. (Rose, for her part, tended to favor mega-curves over muscle mass alone.)
Jasper looks so cute here, I CAN'T TAKE IT SHE IS THE CUTEST SUPER SOLDIER. I'm getting something of a fed up den mother vibe from Lapis, which feels strangely right.

I think the poster was shown off before her corruption, so that could be a possibility. However, the specific flower didn't appear in the show until "Steven's Dream" several months later, where it was specifically revealed to be associated with PD.
Hadn't thought about it until now, but only her, Steven, and Greg are wearing flowers since Pearl is throwing her's away (I'd imagine that's also specific symbolism). That should have been another clue that Rose and Pink were two sides of the same coin.
So yeah, all kinds of foreshadowing. Man, I REALLY want to see what Jasper and Pink's actual dynamic was like.

Me too! Like I used to assume that Jasper never actually knew Pink and had been created after Pink's faked shattering, but I've heard that by all indications, Pink's shattering took place near the end of the war, and so it's possibly that Pink and Jasper could have at least known each other?
Certainly, Pink was attached to her Gems, and I'd like to think that she particularly admired the Quartzes, as she became one. It could be argued that she simply became a Quartz because it was the most convenient to allow her to be big without being Diamond-sized, but i like the idea of Rose fixating on the notion of a Quartz as a protector like she may have wanted to eventually become. So it's interesting to think about her almost... looking up to Jasper, seeing her as something that Pink wanted to be?
And Jasper may well have known her personally, since she seems to be the type to not really love a shadow but admire someone for their deeds, that she saw firsthand?

some quick circle shadows under where theyre standing woulda made the background paste less obvious.

Here I was thinking that's a detail no one would actually catch. I did mess around with making shadows for it, but it didn't look right. I guess I could give it another go now that this is the first comment everyone's gonna see.
