But I wonder if the new series is the Sailor Stars or something different.

Because the SS was made only for Asia and wasn't transferred to English.

I've watched all of the original series in japanese with english subtitltes (stars included). When it was translated in to english originally they really chopped it up pretty bad...changed genders of characters..completely removed episodes or scenes and yup then even just didnt bother translating the last season x_x. Right now I think there are a few websites streaming the original series again but it has been REDUBBED in english properly..including the Stars season . In the summer though we're expecting a completely NEW show. It will have the same voice actors for key characters as far as I know, but basically the creator is going back and redoing everything from scratch to more closely follow the manga (which came before the anime). So it will be the same 'storyline' basically, but more in depth, less filler, and i believe meant for a slightly older audience. I havnt read the manga though so I'm just going off of what i've seen other people say . It will be called Sailor Moon Crystal and it will be in japanese but will have english subtitles (for now)

I think that may mess with people who don't read the manga. Sailor Stars was pretty choppy - like you've said. I had a hard time keeping up with it and the storyline was like it kept dropping off key. I'm not too sure what I really think of the Starlight soldiers but I didn't like them in the series nor the mouse sailor person.

Yeah. There are a lot of place where the series has been uploaded with the Japanese version dubbed in English. I mainly found the episodes on YOUTUBE.
I don't mind watching dubbed series, although, some of characters are squeakier when they actually have lower voices in English.

I, myself, have never read or followed the manga. So... I hope the new one you've mentioned isn't too far off the map of the Sailor Moon storyline.
Or at least, bring in more maturity to Serena and an actual relationship with Darein (they were kinda awkward throughout the whole series anyway).

well you wont need to have read the manga really as the manga is the same story as the original anime..and the new anime will be the same basic story as well, they're just going more in depth this time i guess. . The original niame cut some things out that the manga had. Either way there's a trailer thats been released just recently if you want to see the way it will look.

Okedokey! I know sometimes they tend to leave out things from the books.

oOoo, I love that they added more shading to the characters! They're shinier than before.
I just hope the voice acting for the English version isn't too squeaky. xDD

It's also nice that they show Serena putting pins in her meatball hair.
I've always wondered how she did those. But Serena's face definitely looks different somehow.

Especially Luna and Artemis since they have a kitten in the future.
