Charcoal and chalk on textured paper

A little old...um, I have mixed feelings about this. I think the proportions etc are basically right, and I love how the charcoal came out...that was exactly what I wanted, and I think it's a really nice effect. Unfortunately I tried to add in the whispy white hairs on his chin with white chalk...which, clearly, didn't work. Originally I just wanted to use an eraser to make the hairs, but that didn't work at all, so I tried this. Sort of regret that decision, really.

It was just kind of a doodle that turned slightly more serious, really...I'd quite like to re-do it though; and it's not often I can stand to do a picture more than once. Anyway, yea...charcoal=good chalk=bad. Shame, but there we go.

I just noticed I never signed this...huh. Oh well.
