Description The bold facade
hides the frailties within.
Scarred by the push
and shoves of life.
Yet, it is unlocked,
vulnerable, like me.

How this comes across wil rather depend on your colour settings, on my monitor it is quite bright and vibrant, yet on my laptop it has a darker, more sinister feel to the yellow, (if that makes any sense).

very bold. i've kept from making a comment ever since I first saw this mainly because it jars my words and I've sat in this comment box before stumbling with syllable marbles on a slanted plane.

This picture captures me, loosely, as to say, I could look run around inside it for hours and still not find a way out.

stumbling with syllable marbles on a slanted plane. You make me want to start writing again.

I think this shot may have been beginners luck, as I've not managed to produce anything as good since!

Thanks.

Very cool. I like this a lot and the title creates the perfect paradox. I love the double entrendre on the two different levels.

The border is well balanced around the photo and by making the title minimal on the actual picture it draws the meaning out further.

Well done!

Thanks very much, I think there's a very strong element of beginners luck in it though!!

yay something I'm qualified to comment on lol

I like the square composition. There's something very claustrophobic about it complimenting the "insecure" title you've given it. The horizon is off kilter slightly (0.4-0.5 deg CCW) which fits as well with the title. There's something about the title and the subject that are in a sense contradictory. When I think of insecure I think of things that are tightly cowering, doors locked in the dark and so on. The unlocked or unsecured....er thing....makes this feel more open and the vibrant yellow colour adds to that feeling.

I really do like the grunge all over the item. You picked a good font for that too.

Hmm if you were to crop off the sections- 1)The start of the dark, thick line horizontally and 2) The other thick, dark line vertically I would find it less distracting. My eyes keep getting pulled over to those lines. But crop after you've corrected the rotation

heh you said advanced critique encouraged sooo there you are.

i agree, this is probably the best of your photography submissions so far.

the title works well. the way the yellow comes out for me (and probably just the fact that i'm looking for soemthing to 'support' the title) coincides with the 'insecurity' theme. it looks as if it's trying to hard to be cheery, despite the obvious 'imperfections', which are infact what makes it interesting.

Of your recent photos this, to me, is the best (probably because it's most like my photos haha). i love the focus on colour and texture and the way you've been able to compose the lines within the frame. Nicely cropped and i like the border too! Really well done
