I think my kitty would have liked this. And if she had felt that the surface was too ribbed for her, she would have shredded it until it was just right.

Congratulations.
Marvellous piece.

Just wondering. Does your cat really use it?

I don't have a cat, but this bed is being auctioned off for charity by the humane society, so hopefully someone's cat will get some use out of it.

I hope it gets high bids. Good luck. But I'm certain it will be in demand.

I've got 3 cats at the moment and the thing I learned about them is that they are quite picky.
A bed has to be high, warm, soft, a bit enclosed.
Your design scores high on their wishlist, I think. They just can't resist a carton box somewhere high and stable. The only minus I see is the ribbled surface. I just don't know if cats are confortable with that. Even so, that minor point can be counteracted with a small blanket.

"humane society" ... strange expression.

Yeah, the ribbing was my only worry too. Ideally the gaps wouldn't have been so far apart (about 3/4" or 19mm) but we had to work with the materials and time we had.

On a sad note, the bed only sold for $10. Over 100 hours was put into the conception and construction of it.

Sorry to hear. A shame, really.
Don't let it get you.

Yeah, it doesn't really affect me. It's the humane society that lost out by not working harder to get what it was really worth. Oh well...

By the way, thanks for watching me!

Well, we'll see what happens. I'm currently a university student and most of my work is class related, so I might not have another opportunity to use this method or style again any time soon. I will certainly be posting more projects come fall, and I might have a few small personal projects to put up during the summer. Stay tuned!
