*Shonnie is sitting at his desk and going over several documents and photographhs, until he suddenly finds something that caught his eye.*
Shonnie: No way... YES! FINALLY!
*One of the officers passes by Shonnie's desk after hearing his cheer.*
Hamilton: What are you so excited about? Did a girl finally call you back?
Shonnie: Very funny, Ham... If you must know, I may have finally found a solid lead on the Talon criminal organization.
Hamilton: What?! (whispers) Flash, are you nuts? You know Havoc doesn't want anyone involved with that case.
Shonnie: I know what the chief said. But I cannot simply look the other way, while Talon is roaming free. Not after all the suffering they have caused.
Hamilton: But, we can't take on Talon. We've lost dozens of officers trying to arrest them, nobody is willing to prosecute them and anyone who tried to speak out against them have disappeared.
Shonnie: That's why I'm going alone. There's no need to get any more innocent people involved. Besides, I work better by myself anyways...
Hamilton: Look, Flash... You may be smart and a damn good fighter. But we're talking a whole criminal organization. It would be impossible.
Shonnie: "The one sure way for evil to succeed, is when good people do nothing."
Hamilton: Maybe so, but we can't all outrun bullets...
*Shonnie shakes his head in disappointment and prepares to leave. But as he heads out the door, he stops when Hamilton places a hand on Shonnie's shoulder.*
Hamilton: Wait, Shonnie. I can't let you do this...
Shonnie: You can tell Chief Havoc if you want. But, I'm following this lead and I'm going to bring down Talon.
Hamilton: I meant, I can't let you do this alone. I'm coming with you.
Shonnie: R-really?
Hamilton: If you are sure this lead will find some evidence on those Talon creeps and finally shut them down. Then I guess it is worth a shot.
Shonnie: Right on, Ham.
*The two take a squad car and head off to the location. But, unbeknownst to Detective Shonnie Flash and Detective Hamilton are about to uncover a deadly secret about the criminal organization Talon that will change their lives forever.*

Well, it took some time to get written, but here is the first part of the Excel Origins: Shonnie Flash. Where our favorite afro detective finally uncovers a potential lead to bring down Talon. The infamous criminal group that has been lurking in the shadows of Galax City for years.
This part also introduces a new friend and fellow officer of Shonnie Flash, named Hamilton "Ham" Grend. A level-headed, but meek policeman who agrees to help Shonnie on his big case, despite his better judgement.
