Rhys was used to running at this point, and he was used to the forest, and so as he bolted deeper in he knew where to turn and dodge, unsure if the other wyngling was chasing him as he moved deeper and deeper in, the landscape eventually becoming unfamiliar.
Once he was sure nobody was following him he slowed, exhaustion and hunger hitting him as his stomach growled in protest. HE hung his head with a small sigh, finding food again would be difficult, especially now that he was on edge, and he was already getting thinner from months living on a scarce diet of whatever edible plants lived in the forest. A large snap sounded, and his head once more jerked up. Had the wyngling followed him? Had his father finally came looking? We’re spites here to kill him? When the yellow quad emerged his first thought was that is was uncle Festival, but no, this gro was a stranger, and looked just as surprised to see him as he was to see her.
“Oh hey kid, are you lost? What’s a wyngling doing out here all alone?” She stepped forwards when he didnt respond, frowning as she reached out to grab him, and Rhys launched himself at her, clamping on to her forearm with his teeth as hard as he could, scrabbling with his claws.
A loud ‘OW’ resounded through the forest, deafening as the crackle of wind magic glowed around the gros glands. She shook Rhys off with a good jolt, and as he lunged towards he again, a sweep from her tail sent him tumbling, knocking the wind out of him as his back collided with a tree. The yellow gro loomed over him, frowning as she stared down at him, and Rhys shrunk further into himself, suddenly afraid.
