This backlighting of the rocks against the reflecting water is beautiful. I wish I could see a bigger version but I suppose it could be a small painting too. The only thing I find a pity is that there seems to be a kind of edge to the left of her in the sky and down but I think it could be something from the scan. It's still a beautiful piece and the light is the most capturing part about it I think.

Yes, that "edge" is from a bad scan, havenΒ΄t had a chance to update it with a better scan since the original painting is no longer in my posession. Babben Larsson owns it now!

She's lovely! I adore her hair. It gives her such a free look, but she looks slightly distressed by her facial expression. I like that contrast.

Wow... I remember seeing this picture a while back, either on Elfwood maybe or on DA before i joined. I've always remembered this one, it's so beautiful. I love the dark sea, the rocks, the pose and the stars. I always get good ideas when i think about this painting. It's kind of inspirational i guess.

Wow, absolutely gorgeous. I love the way the light in the left hand corner fading to shadows in the opposite corner draws your eye right to the girl; and then her pose and the path of the stars coming from her hand draws your eye right back up and off the page... Really, the flow here is awesome.

Ooh...i especially like the pose. The upturned face and that hands poised mid-spellcast are so great. And the thing that i always love about your work is of course present. You bring so much beautiful light and whimsy into your paintings with the sparkles. They're especially nice here since they're representing the magic that she's producing. I really like how she stands out against the background as well. The misty water and barren rocks seem so cold while she's there in a warm color, casting a warm spell
