Description

This work was for my 3D class. The assignment was to make a 3D castle with textures and UVs.
Introduction:
For this project my main inspiration was one of my favourite albums, Starcastle (please see references). I wanted my castle to have rockets on the bottom because the towers reminded me of rockets. The setting for my castle was inspired by Flash Gordon and Mongo. I also wanted the castle to be a sort of intergalactic attack ship that would land on hostile planets and then remain there as a fortified base. The gate on the front would lower down so that land vehicles could enter the walls. The back gate is to enter the hangar building where rocket ships would be. The bottom gate is so that while the castle is flying, rocket ships could exit in a dive bomb and defend the castle from other rocket ships.
Details:
One important detail would be the hangar area where the wall meets. You can see that the towers have blocks that go around the outside and meet up with the blocks that go around the base of the roof. If you angle the camera properly you can actually go inside and see that there is a hallway that goes around the entire hangar building so that soldiers could be placed around the entire perimeter.

Shiny! Did you apply a texture to the walls, or just use the material?
