"It took me far too long to realise that I wasn’t the only one gurgling in that room. There were two bunk beds, Marnia having claimed one of the upper shelves while I remained down below. Looking over at the other bunk, I saw that the quilt had been thrown carelessly near the end while the depression in the mattress was very much lacking its occupant. The slats directly above had a sickening bend to them no one could sleep soundly beneath. They creaked in fear as their abuser rolled onto her side and drooped a very fat arm over the edge. I couldn’t know, of course, but I’m pretty sure our fourth roommate was sharing that bed whether they wanted to or not."

I did a fair bit of travelling while I was still at uni. Had some good nights, but I can't say I particularly miss it...

...maybe if my trips were more like this, I'd reconsider
