With my last breath, I closed my eyes
I'd be in Heaven soon

The Angel hovered over me
His tears hit my face
The Angel shouldn't cry
It's wrong
This is not Heaven

The Angel's voice broke, calling out my name
I tried to talk back, but my words were caught
"Come back. Come back." he whispered

They tried to pull the Angel away, away from me
"NO!" he screamed, pulling against them
I could feel the Angel hold me, never letting go

My eyes fluttered open
The Angel's stayed shut
I took a breath
My body ached

This is not Heaven
It hurts to much

"Don't leave me. I need you. I need you." he repeated
"I'm here." I breathed.

The words floated through the room
The Angel smiled widely and pulled me closer

"She's back." some other said
"Let's leave them." a deeper voice boomed

The Angel's tears stopped and he stared at my face

"You're my guardian angel, aren't you?"
The Angel just smiled and picked me up

"I'm starting to believe that."
