Description
A scratch made foam sculpt of Halo Reach's Assault Rifle.I made this a couple of years ago, but due to the near completion of a more recent Halo build, I'm creating a folder to which new photos can be uploaded.
This was only designed to be a prototype, but I was pretty pleased with how it turned out at the time (Though, next to my current project it feels very basic and low in detail).

The battery was a bit of an afterthought... I could quite easily have integrated it into the gun, but time constraints when I was making it made it easier just to have it detachable if I wanted a "cleaner" look.

Thanks! It's a lot easier if you have a hot wire cutter and full size template.
I didn't have one, so I MacGuyvered myself a hot wire cutter.

Extruded Polystyrene for the most part. Aluminium tube to reinforce the barrel

Heh, I haven't yet, but maybe at some upcoming convention!
As for the screen, it's a blue LED behind 2 layers of acrylic. Between the acrylic I printed off the ammo counter from a screenshot I took on Reach, and cut out the glowing bits on the rear print to let the light shine through better. Here are some pictures to help explain:
