Description
When Samadh spoke of his plan for them, Akul said nothing, his dark eyes lowered in what the godking was arrogant enough to believe humility. But Akul was not listening to Samadh. He was whispering without sound, his words creeping through time and space to the last who remembered. The devas. They were not all destroyed in their war with heaven, and Akul knew that it was they who had power enough to free them in the one moment, aeons away, when such a thing was possible.Midway through his voiceless whisperings Akul looked up at the godking, his eyes burning. Samadh paused in his speech, then went on.
It must be remembered that although She'an and Akul could see into the Eternal Plane, it was not so simple for them as it might have been, had they existed before the gods came. Samadh's arrival was not something foretold because he was not meant to be, nor was any of what followed.
The godking had no idea what a vast anomaly, a mistake; an impossibility; the existence of he and his brethren was. So while She'an and Akul held vast power over him, it was not so limitless as Samadh thought. They couldn't predict his every action because his appearance in the Eternal Plane had made it unstable.
Thus Akul's anger at being so bound, at having limits where he knew once there were none.
... looking upon them and their anger, the Light
dimmed, then shone again. Together, He saw,
it was together where strength was found.
The Tablets of Inshain
Realising that their power was bound in their connection with the earth and with each another, Samadh knew his plan was sound and that all spells would hold. This he spoke to them, and She'an, who all along had whispered curses against the godking, fell quiet, and the silent Akul spoke.
I will not be banished to the earth alone, nor
will I suffer mundane love with nameless wives
who I will forget from one life to the next. I would
rather feel nothing.
The Tablets of Inshain
And so it was that Samadh sent Akul into the world robbed of even the slightest capability to feel. Here is a description by a guard who once watched over him.
'It seemed as if he had sat there always and that it was the cell that had sprung up around him. Where once there was nothing, curling rivers of earth and cement washed around his still form. Windows were carved out by the jealous wind, who once inside swelled back and forth like an ethereal wave, and ever so gently crept past his lips and into his lungs and then back out into the room again. Trees sprang from the earth and flung themselves over the walls, grey limbs stretching to board up the windows and block out the dawn time stars, who fell as raindrops to gather softly around him. All were entranced by this being who resembled more the centre of some tumbling abyss than he did a man.'
In feeling nothing, Akul has become the strangest and most alluring of individuals to those around him. He is essentially a void: a gap in the fabric of existence that connects all beings. This is what inspires people to describe him as the warden did above - like any void in space he exerts a gentle pull on all around him, and many have reported feeling as though they could be pulled right out of themselves when standing close to him.
However Akul has no knowledge of why he feels nothing. Others have suggested that he has no soul. This is not the case, although in the past he has believed it. As a mortal he has varied between the most extreme of actions, actions that would normally be precluded by wild emotion, but in his case are most likely motivated by attempts to awaken something within.
These attempts make him highly unpredictable. But it's also because there was nothing he wouldn't do that he became an invaluable ally to many and a key figure in the histories of Sharal. Whether it was for better or worse seemed irrelevant to him.
Akul has lived countless lives in this state without ever crossing the path of She`an. Her fate is unknown. If ever they should meet, or the spells upon them be broken, none can foretell what will happen, or what they will do, after all that they have now suffered.

Already voted ^^
Also: brillian background and something players can make an adventure from, open-ended characters that gives the setting a bit of a mystical twist as well. Me like
