I am not the best artist in the world - but I thought maybe this might help peeps if they are beginning to draw/paint digitally.

Here is how I do Eyes :>

1 - Sketch
2 - Ink
*I use Photoshop's regular brush with the pen pressure added. Also, try making your pic as big as you can. That way when it is resized, the lineart looks a ton better.
3 - Lineart Tweak
* Duplicate Ink Layer. Add Gaussian Blur (Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur)
4 - Greyscale
* Underneath all of your lineart, add a normal layer and paint in your tones using different shades of grey.
5 - Overlay Color
* Above all your layers, add a overlay layer and paint all your base colors.
6 - Overlay Color 2
* I use lighter green tones and just paint them on top using my best judgement. I also put in a normal layer and add in the white dot above the lineart (near the left of the iris)

** Also you'll notice that I went back and adjusted where I wanted the shadow to be for the eye
7 - Overlay Color 3
* More painting in overlay layer
8 - Final Details
* Here I used the color balance and curve tool. I tweak it and find something I like. I combined all my layers together ( ctrl+shift+alt+E) and added noise for some extra texture. (Filter-Noise-Add Noise)

And voila! You are done! :>
