Made with iOS IbisPaint. Speed draw here youtu.be/HqotqWTQP0gA warrior from ancient Dacia (roughly modern Romania), we're not entirely sure what kind of people they were but possibly an offshoot of the Thracians, or related to the Scythians, or a mix of both, among other guesses.
Like the Thracians one of their trademark weapons was a curved bladed weapon, known to the Romans as the falx, a fearsome weapon that could cleave limbs. The Dacian kingdom didn't survive Trajan's conquest at the beginning of the 2nd century, and thereafter the Dacians were absorbed into the Roman Empire. Dacia was abandoned by the Romans at the end of the 3rd century AD in the face of Germanic incursions.
There is a theory that the Romanised Dacians became the ancestors of modern Romanians (who unlike their Slavic neighbours speak a language descended from Latin), but it's a controversial one.
