Made with iOS IbisPaint. Speed draw hereΒ youtu.be/wyGBxjT9TaoPhalangites fighting for the Greco-Bactrian kingdom (in what is today Afghanistan) in the late 3rd century BC. They wear a mix of Hellenistic gear and Iranian dress, but fight in a typical Hellenistic formation for heavy infantry: the pike phalanx. A 4th-century BC bronze statuette showing a similar figure, found in Xinjiang in western China, suggests that such men might have been known to the ancient Chinese.
