Agreed! ^^ He did some great ports and rigs. Shame he left the scene behind, though. However, I completely respect his wishes.

Hi there! Would you by any chance know if MrGameboy20XX had also extracted and converted MGS4 Raiden too? ^^
I can't find that iteration of his model anywhere...

Sorry for the super late reply! Unfortunately, I forget. >.< I only browsed his reuploads once and only got so many before they were pulled. If I can get everything needed to poke around in the game's files, I can try my hand and see what I can do. ^^

I'm afraid that was just a re-upload from Mr. Gameboy, who is no longer in the Xnalara community. If I can get into 3D stuff, I hope to eventually port models from MGS4, the BB unit included.

You're welcome, but the one we need to thank is Mr.Gameboy for extracting, converting, and porting the model over to Xnalara, and of course, Meryl's character designer, and the Konami employee who helped bring her to life as well as Konami for adding her to the game! Actually, from what I heard, Mr.Gameboy was never banned, but instead, he put his foot down and left after some drama got stirred up. (I wasn't there at the time, so I don't know exactly what happened, but it was bad enough that he upped and left) Sadly, Mr.Gameboy seems to have left the Xnalara Community altogether, and now does his own thing.

Alpha-12 In reply to foreshadow10 [2016-11-30 01:07:51 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, from what I've seen enemies don't go down easily. Given how the player can survive gunshots and patch themselves up, I suppose they did it for gameplay balance.

Huh, not sure if I knew that about Tom Clancy. If I recall, the first Tom Clancy games I played were Rainbow Six. The original was tough, because you had to map out where the NPCs would go, and have to swap between them to carry out the idea you planned out from the beginning of the level. Much later down the road, I used to have Rainbow Six Lock down, but it was kind of hard to play.

Love the pic! That's true! Who could pass up some heavy-duty armor in case one needed it? To my knowledge, I forget if I ever encountered the Snipers, but that does add some realism to the game, since most of the enemies I've seen so far are male, such as the bandits and cleaners.
π: 0 β©: 1
Alpha-12 In reply to foreshadow10 [2016-11-30 12:22:19 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, even in nations like Israel, most of the grunts are male. Given how the Cleaners and Rioters aren't PMCs or professional criminals like the LMB or Rikers, it makes sense they wouldn't have snipers.
π: 0 β©: 1
foreshadow10 In reply to Alpha-12 [2016-11-30 14:40:40 +0000 UTC]
Agreed, the Rioters are more ragtag, (I.E. Armed with only basic weaponry and no tactical gear) and most are just in it for the thrill, so they wouldn't be as organized. (A few Rioters are armed with armor and heavier weaponry, but judging by their lack of any possible leaders and more armor or better weaponry, it's possible that the armor and weaponry they've acquired may have been scavenged or stolen) Cleaners Would possibly have a bit more gear, as they would need backup weaponry if a flamethrower failed them or they ran out of fuel. It makes sense that The Last Man battalion and the Rikers would be well armed, as the LMB is a well funded PMC, and the Rikers, being escaped convicts, would have picked up most of their gear from the prison's armory, as well as from others.
π: 0 β©: 1
Alpha-12 In reply to foreshadow10 [2016-11-30 15:43:32 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, given how the Rioters are either petty crooks or the desperate, it makes sense that they wouldn't be well-armed or organized. Apparently NYC's gun laws can be pretty strict, plus in real life most firearm-related deaths, according to the FBI, are attributed to handguns and rifles are only used as murder weapons in a few hundred cases a year. In fact, you're more likely to be killed by a knife or a blunt weapon than a rifle. Of course, anyone can conceal a 9mm pistol fairly easily, while a rifle...let's just say it'd be a bit harder to hide. But yeah, the Cleaners would need to get firearms to deal with the JTF and other opponents. Not to mention that, while shooting people and setting their corpses on fire would be the easiest way to get their job done, beating up any schmuck that's unfortunate enough to be spotted by them with a bat then calling in a flamethrower guy would be easier.
Yeah regarding the reasons for both the LMB and the Rikers being better armed than either the cleaners or the Rioters. Their leader, a black woman, actually wears an NYPD jacket, I think-they probably already killed off most if not all of the guards and stole their weapons like you say (and probably a good number of convicts got killed as well since if I was a guard and knew I was dead meat, I'd either eat a bullet myself or try and take down as many of the Rikers with me; not to mention they may well have resorted to lethal force in a desperate effort to contain them), but let's not think about how she got that jacket considering how she's a convict like her subordinates.
π: 0 β©: 1
foreshadow10 In reply to Alpha-12 [2016-12-01 00:44:13 +0000 UTC]
Agreed, due to New York's gun laws, it's fitting that in the game Rioters would be armed with whatever they could find/steal. Speaking of Larae Barrett, one can look at her character design and tell she's bad news in The Division's Universe. Agreed, the less us, the players, know how they broke out, and how she acquired her NYPD jacket the better. (It's kind of odd that a lawless character such as Larae would don a police officer's jacket considering it sounds like the Rikers despise any type of law, but the jacket may symbolize her authority over the Rikers as their leader) As for the LMB, I haven't gotten that far to know too much about them, but the fact that Arron Bliss, a mercenary, leads the LMB, it's possible that the LMB consist of troublemakers, evildoers, and/or people who were desperate to work for money and living spaces so they wouldn't have to resort to siding with the Rioters.

I'm psyched for Metal Gear Survive actually. The reason being of course, is that I'm a sucker for anything zombie related. However, the game has received quite a bit of backlash to be non-canon. Actually, Hideo himself admitted he wanted to toy with the concept of zombies in Metal Gear, only I think he said it would involve nano machines rather than whatever is stalking the alternate World the characters find themselves in during the MGS Survive timeline. From what I've seen, it looks hard, as you have to treat your injuries, and even build barricades when the zombies arrive. In one video I watched where they were demonstrating the gameplay, they had set up a beacon, but the number of zombies outmatched them and they lost the beacon and were forced to run. They also replied to a curious fan, acknowledging (From what I read) that there will be single player as well as multiplayer.

I haven't played The Division for a bit, but I have been trying to solve the Five Guests puzzle in Resident Evil 7 Beginning Hour's (Final) update named Midnight. The puzzle, although twisted and morbid, will lead you to a room in the attic with a rocking chair and sign that reads, "You're the best ever!" with a dirty coin that can be transferred to the primary game when it arrives. I'm yet to beat the puzzle, as I'm either doing something wrong, or I may have to do clean install of the demo to trigger one part of the puzzle to proceed, as it hasn't worked for me yet.

Copy that, sounds like things are shaping up. Video games probably will get more and more audacious as time goes on, especially MG ones.
On a different and more controversial note (feel free to skip reading this; I just thought I'd give you some words of encouragement, sorry if you don't like where this is headed in advance), I've actually come to terms with the election. Sure, people really didn't like the choices Americans were presented, but I walked outside on a certain Wednesday and things weren't burning down in Houston. America's about getting the job done and then some no matter what crap life throws at us, whether the job be putting food on the table, making pocket money, getting an A on a test, or creating something great through investment and/or research.

Alpha-12 In reply to foreshadow10 [2016-12-01 01:09:01 +0000 UTC]
Yup, plus pistols, as I've said before, are more useful for the kind of criminals that'd be inclined to join a group like the Rioters even before ordinary guys (and girls, for that matter) would become desperate enough in the first place. Come to think of it, in the walkthrough I've seen the JTF guys seemed mainly to be National Guardsmen to me, though apparently there are cops in the JTF as well. One thought that struck me was that the NYPD took heavy losses, which could offer a morbid explanation for how they got at least some of their weapons. Given how at least the Cleaners and Rioters do have guys armed only with bats, though, even they're desperate.
In addition to that, that jacket's probably warm and comfy, and they're in a brutal winter during an apocalypse where people are lucky to have running water and power. Besides symbolizing her authority over the Rikers (notably, the patches aren't crossed out with paint unlike other Rikers), it could also be a trophy of sorts.
Yeah, apparently the LMB started out as a PMC force, though if they realistically wanted to expand their power even in a New York with less people, they'd probably end up recruiting outsiders to bolster their ranks.
On a random note related to The Division, some idiot reviewer cited the JTF treating infected people like "petri dishes." Okay, he/she had a point about, among other things, SHD agents practically having a license to kill, but given the circumstances, getting blood samples and crap from people who'd benefit the most from a vaccine would be an extremely ethical thing to do. On a more positive note, at the JTF base I think I've seen Christmas decorations pop up, which adds to the humanity of the characters-sure, shit's hit the fan, but they're not robots just going through the motions.

foreshadow10 In reply to Alpha-12 [2016-12-01 23:37:18 +0000 UTC]
Agreed. Although to my knowledge, it's never explained in-game, but my guess is the NYPD were elected to join the JTF by the higher ups, or joined due to having sustained heavy losses from Riker and mass riots. Agreed on Larae, the jacket could be all three, to keep warm in the harsh blizzard, to symbolize authority, and due to a lack of crossed out or even removed patches, a trophy/taunt to the NYPD. As for the LMB, I think in a situation like that, a PMC unit would quickly hire any outsiders to keep their ranks filled, especially the LMB in the game's universe. I don't recall if I've ever seen the JTF in game treat/study any civilians, but in a situation like that it would be ideal to try to develop a cure as long as one treated those who were infected with respect, fairness, and didn't abuse them or preform horrific experiments. As for the holidays still being celebrated, that's actually a positive thing to have, as it shows that the communities still carry on with their lives despite what's happened, and it also helps boost morale to prevent others from abandoning the ranks and jumping ship to the rioters or the LMB.

Alpha-12 In reply to foreshadow10 [2016-12-02 02:47:58 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, apparently the NYPD, predictably, took heavy losses from the virus and the riots.
Indeed on the taunt. At least the Rioters are more inclined towards survival and self-preservation even if they're not above beating the crap out of schmucks for food and stealing rations so they can sell them, from what I've read and seen the Rikers are just sadistic assholes for the sake of it. Out of all the hostile factions, they're the ones who, on average, are the guys I probably would feel the least amount of guilt for gunning down. Even the Cleaners have the excuse, no matter how horrible they are, of being desperate and probably slightly unhinged.
Well, apparently there's one mission where you're supposed to save infected people from Cleaners and the lead doctor for the JTF, a woman, makes a point of being concerned about the JTF taking samples. But yeah, as long as the JTF at least try to ease the infected people through the process (i.e. "This is gonna hurt taking a sample, but it's our best shot of trying to get a vaccine made. Just please keep calm and you could help save this entire city.") it would be the right way to approach the matter. I hate needles, but that inhibition would probably go away in the face of death by virus, which is way worse.
Indeed regarding boosting morale and showing that they're still trying to carry on with their lives. At one point, Captain Benitez talks of how his neighborhood's deli manager's considering reopening. It's little things like that and JTF guys cheering after getting through a mission that remind you the player that you're not just preserving what remains for the sake of it, you're fighting to restore New York even if it'll take a long time and that you're saving people even if it's in a game.
