Smash bro's meets MLP? That calls for some interesting character interactions. Would love to see what people do with the idea.

I think there are only supposed to be Smash characters here, sorry. And Smash doesn't have any purple dragon characters...

The characters from SSBB seem to be picked at random (except for obvious and well-accepted Sonic x Rainbow crossover) and barely have anything in common with the M6 cast.
Moreover, SSBB characters don't have any depth. They're not fun, neither charismatic. Maybe it's because I'm not a vivid console player, but still I couldn't even smile at this.
Sorry.

Yeah, probably because you're not a console player. Because all of these characters come from their own games, here's a personality run-down.
1. Sheik: The masculine disguise of Princess Zelda, from the Legend of Zelda. Her appearance in Brawl is actually less masculine and is simply ninja-gear, but Zelda is nonetheless still a princess. She embodies wisdom and grace, and is always dressed in beautiful outfits (even if said outfit is a very no-nonsense ninja garb).
2. Captain Olimar: From Pikmin. Yeah, he doesn't have much personality, he just stands around like he's high all the time and uses the little Pikmin to do his dirty work.
3. Sonic: From Sonic games. Annoying, teasing speedster. Heroic and extremely fast, but not that bright and has a tendency to mock practically everyone. So basically Rainbow Dash in hedgehog form.
4. Diddy Kong: Sidekick hero to Donkey Kong. Quite excitable, known for using a variety of odd contraptions pulled out of nowhere when off on adventures.
5. Link: From the Legend of Zelda, Link is usually a player-avatar character with little personality. But some elements are unique to different versions of Link. In Twilight Princess (the version shown here), Link works as a rancher, rounding up goats for his village. He does so with the aid of his horse, Epona. This particular version of Link is a simple country boy, loyal to his friends. He is also one of the few modern Links not to be portrayed as somewhat "lazy".
6. Lucario: From Pokemon. As a Pokemon, Lucario does not actually have any personality in his game. However, he DOES appear as one of the central characters in the movie "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew". In said film, Lucario is a solid, monk-like warrior-hero from a long-ago age. Honor and knowledge are important. In-game, Lucario becomes more powerful when he takes more damage. When he is about ready to be knocked off the screen, he in turn can also knock players about like dolls. He is actually closer to Princess Luna in personality and history, having been sealed away for many generations.

I love MLP crossovers. It was one of them that brought to the fandom after all...

Heh, I've thought of matching the Mane Six to songs from OoT, and Applejack does indeed get Epona's. Twilight gets the Song of Time, simply because she's the only one who ever time-traveled. That leaves Zelda's Lullaby open for Rarity. Rainbow Dash is a shoo-in for the Song of Storms. I figure on Fluttershy for Saria's Song and Pinkie Pie for the Sun's Song (yes, properly the domain of Celestia, but I restrict myself).

You must have a very pleasant existence if your bane is that mild.

Somehow, I had the feeling Fluttershy would like Pikmin.
And it seems Diddy's made a new friend (especially now he can have all the cake that he wants XD)
