Description
I have a thing for coins, something about the history of them really interests me. I also like crudely made coins, especially Spanish-colonial COB coinage from the 15-1700's and decided to make my own. The top are the two brass dies that I punched and below are all the gold, silver, brass, and copper coins I made with them. The coins are dated 2006 and 2007 (I repunched a 7 over the 6 on the die) for when I make them. They are for my hometown and the border reads:Adamsville Red Lion PA 2006 (7 on some) with a cross in the center on the obverse.
Hope Liberty above and below the pillars of hercules and my initials on the reverse.

wow thats such a cool idea!!!
I think i might have to 'ahem' barrow the idea?
I have similar sentiments for old coins... and even dream about them every once and a while, coins i have never seen before and i doubt actualy exist in the realworld......
but, maybe now........ that might change.
do you have ay friends who are making their own coins also?
wouldnt it be something to start a collection.... like artist trading cards.... but with coins.
-take it easy,
Mike

I really wish others would make coins! I've made ceramic, metal, and now paper coinage...someone better jump on this bandwagon before I ride off alone!
Seriously though, I don't mind if you borrow the idea. I think it's a fun project and is a great way to test out some seldom used techniques...like key joints, sweat soldering, tube making, dapping, die making, etc.

Thanks very much. I still have more photos to take as I used these to make jewelry as well. I seem to be a bit of a slacker when it comes to the camera however, haha.
