First winner of the special commission contest! This idea was suggested byI've had sooo much fun with this depiction of the Goddess-Ruler. So much symbolism! I love it!
Feel free to interpret as you wish and share your thoughts in the comments. Alternatively, you can print her out and worship as your new god. Whatevs.

I was first exposed to the concept via The Beatles (during the period when they were studying Transcendental Meditation), and George Harrison's song "Across The Universe". Seeing that interpretation of Celestia immediately brought it to mind.

It means hail the Lord God Guru. In various interpretations of Hinduism, the Guru is the purest form of God because he/she is both the example and method of enlightenment as a living person.

May I take it to mean that you find this image to be an especially apt image of Luna? If so I take that as a great compliment to myself and Fox, as the design is mine, the manifestation is by Fox... and my entire intent was to bring forth the Luna in my heart - her spirit form, if you will.
Now to do more research into the idea of Jai Gurudev....

Oh... oh... I actually burst into tears upon seeing this picture. It's not just beautiful, it's deep and complex and somehow real, at least so far as such a word can apply to pony-related ideas and imagery.
By the stars in Luna's eyes, I keep looking back and finding another layer of imagery and meaning. I... thank you. I will be delving into your gallery for more treasure, but this moment, now, is exquisite.
Further, I wanted to add: this is the Celestia who lives in my heart. I hadn't seen her before, and I am awed at last to know her spirit-form, and see how intricately it reflects who and what she is.

There are no words to describe the joy that this picture has brought me. I must apologize for being late. I recently joined the military and have been in basic military training & tech school, and so have had a boot to my face for the past couple of months. Indeed as I type this on the common area computer, I wasn't even on my account when I ran into this piece. You can imagine my delight as I looked in the "more" section to see a piece and think "I've been looking for a such a piece for awhile". Even more happiness flows as I note the details and finally a crescendo of splendor when I realize this piece exists because I suggested it.

It looks absolutely amazing. Seeing everything from wings and horn all the way to the elements and story plots, this piece is top notch hoity toity stuff. I love the way that everything from the show is depicted here. We can find elements that range from season one through to the most recent fourth. Little Details such as the elemental symbols on Celestia's belt and the stars being Twilights cutie mark, through to the larger more noticeable memories of the show such as our favorite Discord and the tree of harmony truly make this a memorable picture that will be highly rated by the majority.Β
The style used is very unique and gives it that resonance feel. I love it all!Β

I've never seen Celestia look so completely and utterly ethereal. This is gorgeous! I love that you included Discord beneath her. It makes me think of Celestia as the goddess of balance (light and dark, magic and science, earth and sky) and Discord is the demon that seeks to destroy her. Or she's tamed him and he carries her on his back. Either way. I love how this can be interpreted so many ways!
